That's why I said the only real point of comparison is the demon contracts and demons/their powers being used by law enforcement. The previous series (Dante Valentine) is actually pretty good but there are still broad ethnic stereotypes (which make no sense since this is set in the future) and Random Anti-Semitism. Also she does a variation of "vampires but we don't call them vampires because of reasons" thing.

Another series it reminds me of is The Demon's Covenant series by Sarah Rees Brennan which is amazing and which I do recommend highly.
