Askerian: i'm kinda worried because on one hand dan was all "not time to die yet" but on the other hand we've already done the "IS TSUNADE GOING TO DIE OHNO oh yay she lives" thing and that'd cheapen it a bit

Askerian: it feels like kishi was at a loss for plot and decided to make tobi be someone else AGAIN and went rooting through fan theories for who that'd be.
Askerian: i mean otherwise before this point what do we have to support tobito? short black hair, right, like about half the guys in this series... to-bi, o-bi-to, totes not a coincidence... uh, one sharingan eye, okay... i guess that reasoning works, ish, but at the same time emotionally and character-developmentally it rings entirely false.

and then she had to leave. But seriously so far I am seeing zero continuity between the Obito persona and the Tobidara one. I am srsly hoping there was some ninja mindfuck no jutsu involved in turning Obito. I could have accepted him going bitter if Rin and Kakashi thought he was dead and fucked off without checking and he had to languish in the dark, but that wasn't the case! He was all "i'm okay with dying if it's for you guys"!!! Aaaaaaargh.

To be fair, on the other side of the fourth wall, we have the fact that Kakashi Gaiden kicked off the post-timeskip plot -- which was basically when the antagonist switch from Orochimaru to Akatsuki (as headed in seekrit by Tobi) was made. (Yes, Orochimaru still did stuff, but he wasn't Public Enemy #1 anymore.)

I actually think the way the whole Obito/Tobi thing is shaping up makes a lot of sense -- so long as you keep one thing in mind.

Tobi is a fucking liar.

I've said this over the past week and a half till I'm practically blue in the face. Yes, he said he did this because of Rin. He has said a metric ton of shit. Most of it has either been outright lies or so manipulatively twisted that it's functionally untrue.

His actual motivations are still a mystery, but given the circumstances of his apparent death, I think there's plenty of ammunition Madara could have used to twist him against Konoha.

The matter of the Kyuubi attack is still pretty questionable; I'm waiting to see how Kishimoto intends to handle that, but it's worthwhile noting that Tobi was not super-uber-mighty-warrior in that battle; he pulled a lot of tricks and relied on Minato's fucked-up emotional state to pull off as much as he did.

Still, all in all, I don't think this is something Kishimoto pulled out of his ass, and I think there's potential for everything to fall pretty logically into place. Don't forget that near-death experiences and war can change people severely. Just because we had flashbacks to Obito being a decent human being as a kid doesn't mean he stayed one.

It was pissing me off beyond belief. There is absolutely no basis for Obito's motivations right now so Kishimoto had better make this work, otherwise it will turn out as the biggest plot hole to date! Which is saying something for this series.

Also, suddenly all of the Kakashi feelings everywhere these past few chapters aaaaaaah-! 8D

Uh, yeah, Tsunade's pic there with her legs so far away from the rest of her was unexpected D: D: D: Still, that woman is awesome, no doubt about it.

As for the whole Tobi/Obito thing... I've decided to ignore it until it makes sense XD I'll just spend the chapters loving how evil Madara can be and waiting not-patiently to find out what Sasuke and Orochimaru are up to.

I was really really hoping Kishimoto didnt go the Obito route. I think that was the first time the series really disappointed me, but im over it.

I agree tho, there better be some amazing mind-fucking going on, or yes, 'you killed rin, ill kill the world' just isnt buying it for me
