Three things:

First, kudos on the biking. Doing that myself. Results are generally good so far. How long have you been on it?

Second, "I'll kill Zechs. That's my way of thanking him." Nah. I'm pretty sure that's all just talk. Heero's real way of showing appreciation for someone is threatening to kill them over and over again, building up the fact that they're going to die, and then inexplicably leaving them alive when the time comes. Either that or he really does show appreciation for someone by killing them and by extension must really hate Zechs, Relena, and the other G-boys by refusing to murder them.

Third, two possibilities occur to me. Either Treize has a very Darwinian approach to parenting (e.g. "Is this kid smart enough not to suffer an immediate and terrible death? YES! Guess he got all his smarts from dad, since mom seems too distracted by shiny thing to help him avoid this situation in the first place."). Or he just hates butterflies that much, and he needs to cultivate that hatred in the next generation. After all, in chaos theory what do we say flaps its wings and causes hurricanes? Butterflies. That kind of power either needs to be harnessed for his cause or destroyed before it can truly threaten him.
