Kenshin/Naruto/Sasuke -- kinda ficlety XD

The secret of the ninja countries, is that if you go far enough westward, farther than where the maps end, you find

Nothing.

The world just ends.

It's a kekkai -- a sacred barrier. You can't break it from the inside, and it encases the whole of the ninja nations.

It's more permeable in the other direction, in a few, rare places -- only one actually, the small hidden shrine the Sage of Six Paths had used as his point of entry after he was done creating his pocket world, his last-resort Juubi-trap.

Kenshin wanders through a lot of abandoned places after the war, and the little shrine seems unstable and unsafe but at the moment he doesn't think he cares much about his life and if the gods want to flatten him as he sleeps, well.. with his reflexes it likely won't happen but even if it does he doesn't care.

In the morning he thinks, wasn't that steam curving left and not right? but surely the whole world can't mirror itself like this, and he's been tired for so long.

He can't go back, but he won't know that for a little while. It's okay. He didn't plan to ever stop wandering anyway. he doesn't have a home.

it's years, long and calming, the wounded storm turning into calm melancholia, before he meets them, the teenagers fighting and raging and tearing each other up. One of them reminds him of himself. The other one is someone he wishes reminded him of anyone he used to know, but he never knew someone like that and even though the pain is dulled it flares up anyway.

It's too late. No it's not. I can't go back anymore. It's fine, I can take you there. I don't have a home.

I'll give you mine.

They're god-powerful and their eyes uncanny but they bleed red and they hurt just like he used to. He knows they could kill him, he's outclassed like he has never been, but that doesn't stop him bursting in between them and catch a fist, catch a blade.

He needs to help fix it. He needs to believe it can be fixed.
