I understand what you mean, yes. Polish it too much and it doesn't feel alive anymore, and yes, what you wrote is pretty much what I felt they were feeling during that scene. ♥

Yet I also have an obligation not to make it too subjective and hard to get, because some people don't have the same subtext for them that I do. It feels a little like dumbing it down sometimes and I really don't like it, but I can't pretend it's never necessary. It's not good writing if the only ones who can get it are the people who happen to match the way I think.

So... i'm still trying to figure out the smallest change I could make to make it clear without rewriting Sasuke's line entirely. So far the only one i've got is "until naruto blahblah, you're the only one." I liked "you're it" but. I don't know. Maybe I should leave "you're it" and slip sakura's understanding of it in the narration somehow... argh. Maybe in the end i'll just go NEVERMIND and not change a thing like a mean, mean person. XD
