I have the headache from hell so i'm gonna try to keep it shortish.
1) ngh that sidebar text -- "sasuke is nearby... stand up, naruto!" oh god PLEASE.
naruto wakes up! ALSO, HE HAS A BIG EYE.
2) His first question: "Where's kakashi and sai." Hmm.
Contradicting the last impression of the previous chapter, where madara and sasuke stood atop a wall being all BWAHAHA in unison, Madara is once again reminding sasuke that he's just a kid and he should listen to his elders. "you've overused your powers, you won't be able to bluff it much longer. The light has almost gone out of your eyes, what do you think you can do if you go alone to konoha now?"
That raises interesting things.
1. Once again it's madara being all "listen to my wisdom/orders sneakily disguised as sarcasm disguised as honest questions."
2. "what will YOU do" -- he's not coming with Sasuke to Konoha? when it seemed like that was his goal more than sasuke's, the way he maneuvered to aim him there? Hm.
3. ... is sasuke going blind too? Maybe it's not permanent, he's just tired -- this time around. But yeah, Sasuke might go blind for real soonish at this crazy rhythm. D:

It's funny he's once again bringing up that they're not allies, when in the previous chapter, just after Sasuke at his most evil, was also a lot of imagery to present them as peas in a psycho Uchiha pod.
10) karin: *has Flashback* *gigantic BEAR*
1. ohh, she was from grass country! and... her teammates were either eaten by the GIANT FUCKING BEAR or they ditched her. Hmm.
2. ... konoha's chuunin exam what? okay I didn't expect THAT.
11) tinysuke: *goes shishi rendan on GIGANTIC BEAR* *proceeds to be cocky*
... Huh. I seem to remember that faced with a snake that wasn't that much bigger, tinysuke froze the fuck up, and Naruto had to use a little more than a basic combo -- he had to use kyuubi chakra, and that was a pretty impressive thing at the time. It's a bit weird to see tinysuke being all NANANA MY BASIC ATTACKS RULE when at the time it was one of his best... I don't know if i'm explaining it well. prolly Kishi just didn't want to waste ten pages on a realistic-for-that-time-period's-skills fight scene. Hrrm.

1. karin's feelings look a little more like a real innocent crush now instead of a creeptastic thing they looked at first. u.u then again i like the idea that she had a normal crush but that being very open with her sexuality and having lived with warped people since then, she would express a perfectly normal crush in really weird ways. XDDDDD Also
2. the same quote, "see ya" or whatever it translates as, used for both the past and the present sasuke, seem a bit ambiguous. you don't say "see ya" to someone you're about to kill. ...Unless you're talking about seeing them in hell? Then again it could be a "i'm saying it because i was saying it back then but this time i don't mean it" ... I dunno. Hmm.
That blood, though -- yeah, her injuries are serious. A thin line of blood at the corner of her mouth would be one thing, but her entire chin is painted red. Sasuke wasn't trying to kill her but he wasn't trying to avoid it very hard either -- she looks about to pass out, and if she does it before healing herself then it seems possible she'd die? I don't know about her healing abilities' limits as well as sasuke does, though, but I admit it doesn't look very good from this point of view.
13) danzou: *cockblocks madara from the grave* Poor madara, he can't complete his collection. and he wanted that Eye of Shisui so much! aww. >D

Funny how the sidebar text says "Sakura's determination... wavers!" yet her face looks anything but hesitant or desperate. It looks extremely determined actually, and she yelled that with zero preparation or showcased hesitation at seeing him again, so I'm not sure where she's supposed to have been struggling in the grip of a suddent attack of "omg maybe i should betray them all for him instead"
Anyone whines "omg she hasn't changed at all from the stupid fangirl she was omg traitor omg she SUUUCKS" will have my boot up their ass. If anyone thinks she's sincerely betraying Konoha after all that happened recently... shyeah right. The reason she lied to Naruto was to protect him and because she couldn't take losing him too, and the reason she went to look for Sasuke is to protect her village. Like fuck she really means it the exact same "take me with you, i'll be useful" innocent way.
Some more likely motives:
1. she wants to have time to verify the info she was given -- that sasuke is truly lost and evil -- before she truly decides whether to kill him, because all her recent heartbroken-but-determined!faces were only about accepting the possibility.
2. she just wants him to allow her to cross that bridge and get in striking range and then she'll charge right away.
3. she knows that even exhausted as he is, he's really dangerous, so she wants him to take her along when he leaves so she can gather intelligence on him and Madara, and make him underestimate her and stop being suspicious until she CAN backstab him without risking being killed before she can even brush against him.
For reasons 1 and 3 she does need him to take her along and see her as useful. But the motive behind them? completely different from back then.
(note, i also think she's lying to herself like naruto says when she believes she could bring herself to kill sasuke and that she totally doesn't doubt she has to. XD)
I'm kinda sad apparently we're not gonna get an epic battle between the two of them but then again, Kishi being himself I'm not surprised either. It's not like she could have won against his little darling, even though Sasuke is exhausted and half-blind at the moment... Mergh.

Then they can BECOME Konoha, because, without houses and towers and mountains, the actual village is pretty much and idea, a concept so: clear slate.
They can leave the past behind (their beloved home is actually pretty tarnished, as it turns out, and there was tons of compromise and blood spilled over it, so it pretty much requires starting over for it to be worthy of protection again).
So I now root for rebel-team 7 who want to change the world. And make Konoha into the shiny happy place they thought it was when they were kids. Uphold ideals, really.
Whoa, this was a happy chapter for me, first one that really got my interest in ages.

Definitely agree that this chapter was much better than the past few, if only because Kishi actually remembered that the other characters existed~ Much <3 for SneakyNinja!Sakura, and lets not forget that she IS a medi-nin, so even without Karin's freaky ability, it seems likely that Karin's going to live. Unless Sasuke is really going for evil bastard mode, in which case he'll force Sakura to not heal Karin, as proof that she is actually loyal to him still. I really hope that it doesn't go down like that, because that will probably be the final proof that I need for Sasuke's complete inability to redeem himself. I hope that Sakura's being sneaky, trying to get Sasuke to think she's still the same old moony Sakura so that she can bash him over the head, but ..well, maybe we'll see next week.
Truth be told, what will probably happen is that Sakura will just stall Sasuke until Naruto and/or Kakashi get there, then she'll spend the rest of the damn time healing Karin. Not that I'm bitter or anything. >.> (C'mon Kishi, let the girl(s) get some action here, srsly)

Okay, I might be being a bit facitious, but in all seriousness I think Yamato is overestimating the seriousness of the situation. They talk about how powerful and terrible Sasuke is now, and yet they're completely ignoring what Naruto is capable of. I'm seeing the stealth approach far more as a courtesy to Yamato than a need- a Sage enhanced Naruto could squish the guy like a grape, even without the Kyuubi.
