Hmmm... In the Final Fantasy games where there's a Kirin summon (at the moment, the only one I'm sure has this is the Tactics game for GBA), I'm pretty sure it does some kind of healy thing. Like maybe reraise or cleanse or that stupid thing where you regain some hp every turn. Which kind of fits with Sakura's healer-nin-ness? (Not that Final Fantasy is any sort of good source for real mythology BUT STILL.)
