I used to be able to do this, taking the approximate distance between the border of Konoha and Otogakure and How Long It Took Naruto To Get There (fast ninja speed) vs How Long It Took Sasuke To Get There (normal ninja speed) but uhh... I forgot what the conversions were and they never make sense anyways??!!

Feel free to use at your leisure (I did this for the sake of roleplay a very long time ago):

These conversions use this (http://www.leafninja.com/images/country/World-2_0.gif) map for reference which is not the most help considering there are none of the new locations on it, but umm, just for curiosity's sake:

Pixels to cm: 100px=2.646cm

Distance Between Otogakure and Konoha: 100px

This is assuming that Naruto and Sasuke’s fight starts at approximately 10am.

Time It Took Sasuke (assuming he left at exactly midnight) – 34 hours

Time it Took Naruto (assuming he left at 8:00) – 26 hours

Sasuke traveling speed: 100px/34hours = 2.9px/hr = .07cm/hr

Naruto traveling speed: 100px/26hours = 3.8px/hr = .1cm/hr

If we assume that Naruto was traveling at the highest average running speed for a man - 32km/hr constantly (his ninja powers let him do this constantly) – this means that .1cm=32km, or that 1cm=320km on that map.

This also means that the distance from Konoha to the Valley of the End is 846.72km (526 miles approx.) which is smaller than running across France in two days.

If we assume that Sasuke was traveling at the lowest average running speed for a man – 21km/hr constant, cause he’s not feeling too good after that whole Curse Seal thing – this means that .07cm=21km, or that 1cm=300km.

This also means that the distance between Konoha and the Valley of the End is 793.8km (493 miles approx.).

Let’s take the conversions for Sasuke’s speed, because Naruto had fights and things inbetween and was therefore not traveling at a constant speed, whereas Sasuke was pretty much able to, uhh sort of. (Plus, 300km is a much easier-to-convert distance). Meaning that if Hi no Kuni is approximately 10.16cm East-West and 8.25cm North-South (not counting the little extra peninsula) and that is approximately 5.24cm Southwest-Northeast and 1.8cm Southeast-Northwest, the dimensions of Hi no Kuni are 3,048km East-West and 2,475km North-South, the extra peninsula is 1572km x 540 km, and the total area of Hi no Kuni is approximately 8,391,880 square kilometers, not counting mountains and hills and a lot of other stuff that is not on the map.

I just looked it up, and my calculations put Hi no Kuni at about the size of Brazil.

Either I messed up on my numbers somewhere, Kishimoto doesn't actually read his maps and things before he publishes them, or that is one damn big country.

I really hope there's more behind this that Sakura-lying-so-that-Naruto-would-be-safe. As noble as it is, it's kind of cliché. And too obvious. So, yeah, here goes for hope the next chapter will clear more up about Sakura's intentions. (Maybe Sai staying behind is also a part of her plan? She's smart, maybe she DID know Naruto would reject her, and that was all a part of a master play... :D)

I need to start reading from this translator, because the one I have been reading for years makes no sense. I just reread this chapter from your link and now I know what's going on! At least I know now I'm not stupid, I was really beginning to worry :p

But...When I first read the chapter Kakashi said "It's a clone." and I was like "Of what? Sasuke? Haven't they met yet?" but now it makes sense ^^;;
