(psst, if you like Zuko from Avatar, read Theft Absolute and Embers. She does things with the Avatar 'verse that ... well, end up changing quite a bit of the Avatar 'verse's background mythology, but in true Vathara fashion it ends up AWESOME, if quite deciedly Vathara-flavored. Tons of shinyshiny worldbuilding, and lovely OCs, and and and. Mmmh.)

I just finished reading the new chapters (I also missed 8 and has a moment of lost until I went back and saw I missed a chapter). So. Much. Squee. I had to immediately rec it to a friend that doesn't read a lot of fanfic but will at least look at things I point her at. I think she'll enjoy the little twist on Zuko's birth and the way bending works.

I don't know if she's a published author, but she has an original story up on Fictionpress.com called Falcon's Reach (the adventures of Cath Traethlin, thief extraordinaire). It's not up to her current standards of editing, but it's still one of my favorites.

Vathara is one of my favorite authors ever! It's fun to find other people as excited about her as I am, as for the most part I think she tends to be sadly overlooked. Maybe it's because she only posts to ff.net, and there's a lot of prejudice against that site, but I don't know. Btw, I think your new FF7 pack bonding AU had a great deal of the same 'feel' as a lot of her stories. Not in a derivative way, but in a totally awesome way, if that makes any sense. The not-quite-human pack bonding/loyalty thing is a total kink for me.

As for the squeeing- don't be ashamed. Really. The first time Vathara responded to a question I left in a review, I nearly fell out of my seat with excitement- and I didn't even have the excuse of her saying she's enjoyed something of mine! ^_^

Am now totally freaking over finding fanfiction in the Avatar 'verse not written by a twelve year old with no real understanding of the English language. *wakes house with squees* Adding Vathara to favs right now.
