-Page 1: ... I know it's supposed to be dramatic but bwahaha naruto's >8( face.
Aaand either it's mixed with Nagato's flashbacks, or ~~kishi got lazy art syndrome~~ it's just a theoretical representation of what Naruto has to avenge and not a literal one, or Naruto really is remembering Pain's memories. I'd like to be sure one way or another already!
... Also that panel of the Pains crouching all around Jiraiya's body looks like they're going to eat him.

-Page 2: "If you kill Nagato it won't change anything, it'll just make you feel better!" ... That's a good goal in itself, honey. >_____>

-Page 3: And Nagato keeps trying to mindfuck Naruto with words... Hah. It's kinda simplistic, oh well. XD

I know it's supposed to be cool, but the cross-shaped pupil makes me wonder WTF Sakura is gonna have to get if she wants to be a matching set with her teammates. First there was the flowergan, now the frogfoxgan... Where do you go from there? XD

Like he finally realized that no, he isn't going to win, and he's not really a god, and then he starts doing the "let's smile nervously and make him talk" thing and just... Pathetic. (also how the fuck does naruto talk so easily when he just got impaled through the chest. Oh shounen manga.)

So yeah, pain's motive is TOTALLY altruistic and based on ALL COUNTRIES who have the ninja system, because the system is what's flawed! ... especially Konoha's because they accidentally killed my parents but that's not personal at all, nooo, as a god I am above that. (shit, if his parents had said "we surrender, we're civilians" then the Konoha guys were goody-goody enough they would have never killed them.)

-Page 17: n'aww crying kid whose parents just got accidentally killed! his reaction does make sense... Oh look, suddenly I care! :O (not really. It would take a bazilion metric fuckton more than that, for srs.)

Shiiiiit the way it's going we've got at least two or more flashback chapters coming, nnnnooooo. End that bullshit already. DX

Look at it this way--it's not like Pain was going to die before his flashback. So it's getting that out of the way.

Haha, I like the flashback chapters. But this isn't the flashback I want. Give me Yahiko, damn it. As annoying as Pain is now, they were sort of cute when they were kids.

I have stopped reading most of the manga chapters, because I like your updates BETTER! Waaaaaaay more entertaining!

That flashback was so freakin' ridiculous. UGH. I'm trying to not rant about it, cause if I do, I WONT BE ABLE TO STOP. D:

Considering Yahiko's body was made the first (first made and first in his affections) amongst Nagato's bodies and how much Nagato [i]probably[/i] cared for him... Well I think it's likely that the started the conversion into a New Realm. Maybe human realm, even though it's the third realm.

He could, in one move- cut off the head apparent of the Akatsuki (sure, Tobi's pulling strings behind everyone's backs, but no one but Sasuke knows he's anything other than a dumbass, and it'll create confusion in the ranks....plus, it says to anyone familiar with Pain 'yeah, that nine tails can totally kick god's ass'...and spares anyone from being crushd under Pain's particular brand of insanity...and prevents a giant super weapon from destroying everyone...AND avenges a bajillion deaths....and makes you feel better. Multitasking no jutsu.

He seems to have lucked out and found the one character on earth who'd actually listen to his bullshit and feel guilty about being angry with the guy that murdered your home town.

And yes, there is a parallel here with Sasuke and his clan and his outlook versus Naruto that I'm sure gets important later, but its being given to us with all the subtlety of a nuclear bomb....literally, in Pain's case.

Mmmm....I keep getting this 'Japan emotional state after Hiroshima/Nagasaki' subtext from all this. Could be reading too much into it.

It might have been more redeeming to Nagato and the story in general if They WEREN'T Konoha nins and he decided to do Konoha first because he needs the ninetails and to bring 'peace' to his beloved sensei's beloved village.

LOL at the Sakura eye thing...I thought the cross eyes looked kinda neat, but I think he and Sasuke are having an eyeball contest of some sort at this point. Sakura gets to be the judge, so she has to stay neutral.

Any pity I might have had at any point for Nagato has completely evaporated. Now he's just trying to make excuses. This chapter actually made me angry. I know Naruto wants to actully find an answer, but Pein's answer is wrong, you know his answer already, kill everything until everything left bows down to you. That will never be Naruto's answer. Naruto answer is to break the rules.

I also just want Pein to be dead already. He's lived too long. (And I want Sasuke back, but you know....))

Sorry...I ranted.....I swear I twitched during the reading of this chapter, I normally like it when Naruto tries to reach out. But this has gone far past the point of 'Let's bring them to our side' Pein has already admitted that he knew he was being used and was ok with it, because he was a True Believer. Kill him and wash your hands of the issue, Naruto.

I like the dramatic shadows! They're...dramatic! /sarcasm

It's so weird. Normally woobie flashbacks are loved. (Gaara anyone? Or Sasuke? Or Neji?) But Nagato's such a pathetic villain no one gives a fuck, lawl.

So Nagato's first source of pain, his parents getting killed by ninja, totally fails compared to Sasuke's clan being killed by his brother. That's one down.
His second will probably be something like "everybody hated me as a kid cuz I was weird", which will be pwnd by Naruto's childhood trauma.
Then, his "kill people" reasoning is downed by Gaara's "kill to exist".

The guy's just one step behind on the sob-story backgounds...
