Comment with a story I've written, and I will tell you one thing I knew, learned, or wondered about while writing the story that didn't make it onto the page.
Any fandom I've written for. Feel free to ask about Teamwork and Crossed Wires, but the universes are very big so if you could limit the area you want to know about plz; and even then I might still tell you "sorry, that's a spoiler." Or just tell you something totally stupid like how at some point I seriously believed Teamwork would be done in thirty pages tops. ;p
loev me plz. ;_;

Uhhhh. Good question. @__@; Mariemeya has charisma-type projective empathy? Isn't that just fascinating. XD;
( and, nothing that I think touches on your interests, but I was wondering what to tell you about and remembered you're not shippy, which would have been the safest to babble about, and now I'm wondering if I'll get flak because all my guys are ex-straight. XD Heero was with Relena (except they figured out that whether or not they had sex their bond of shared idealism and mutual inspiration didn't change any), Duo was with Hilde (they still love each other but their lives are going different ways) and Wufei had Meiran. Has Meiran. I'm wondering if, even with the explanation that people from the colonies are culturally more accepting of Kinsey scale fluidity, it won't be a bit much and the few people who didn't leave because it's sitting on the yaoi/het fence won't go OMG MY DISBELIEF. And then I start to wonder whether Wufei even wants to like men in this fic. I still don't know. Damn him. Hm, no, the fandom has changed in the time I was gone, i'm sure, it's got to be a lot more mature now... *askared* DX DX DX )
As for Crossed Wires!Hanabi, so far she's really just a random background character with little relevance to the plot, I'm afraid. ^^;

There were flame wars between het fans and yaoi fans, between yaoi fans who liked different pairings, between yaoi fans who hated and/or mocked Relena and those who liked her (much outnumbered, poor guys), and even between people who liked Heero on top and those who liked Duo on top. No matter what you wrote, it felt like unless it fit precisely into a specific niche someone would flame you for it, or at least complain. ("oh my god, Duo took the initiave in bed!" "Oh my god, Relena is CLOSE to Heero?! Since when?! And she's not trying to kill Duo out of jealousy? That's so out of character!" "Ew, Heero/Duo sucks, write Duo/Wufei instead.")
There were pockets of sanity, but a lot of the fandom was very petty and polarized into absolutes no matter how many shades of gray you could have fit in between; since the fandom was still going strong, but was in its... tenth year or so back then? all the fanon tropes had long been hammered into law. (Heero is an emotionless robot whose only dialogue is "Hn." Duo is a giggly girlyboy on sugar high and/or a slut/ex-whore. Trowa was raped by his whole mercenary unit as a child and his only dialogue is "..." Quatre is a sweet girly-girl who likes tea and loves nothing more than advise people on their relationships. Wufei is a mysoginistic guy who keeps getting angry for no reason, screaming "onna!" and getting nosebleeds. Relena always screams HEEEEERROOOOO and is a selfish spoiled hateful bitch.)
Over half of the people had never watched the show, just gotten characterization from fanfic they'd read. Now that the fandom is dying, it seems like the people who stay are more of the type who actually watched the show and loved it for itself, not as a convenient shipping ground... but, well, I'm still a bit nervous. >_>;;
