http://www.giveawayoftheday.com/

Site that gives one free program a day blah di blah. Everyone and their grandmother has been pimping the link on my f-list so I figured I'd give it a look. Today's program is a word/image processing thing with like a BAZILION bells and whistles added on, apparently specially tailored for writers.

I downloaded and installed it and HOLY FUCK SO MANY WINDOWS WHAT DO THEY EVEN DO. It looks a bit scary. But.

But.

[livejournal.com profile] askerian: Project Goals
Words per day, words left to write, days remaining, multi-document word counts.

homg
[livejournal.com profile] sarolynne: .......Oh my god.
[livejournal.com profile] sarolynne: >.>
[livejournal.com profile] askerian: Outlines
Create a collapsible tree of plot ideas.

OMG
[livejournal.com profile] askerian: OMG SARO
[livejournal.com profile] askerian: I NEED THIS
[livejournal.com profile] sarolynne: *downloads*
[livejournal.com profile] askerian: Manuscript Building
Combine multiple chapters into a single manuscript automatically.

[livejournal.com profile] askerian: *fans self*
[livejournal.com profile] askerian: oh my.
[livejournal.com profile] askerian: Repetition Visualizer
Liquid Story Binder XE's Repetition Visualizer allows you to find, at-a-glance, repetitive words and phrases.
Universal Search
Liquid Story Binder XE can search every Chapter, Note, Builder, Timeline, Storyboard, Outline, Dossier, Sequence and Backup for a single lost word or phrase. Can't remember where you wrote that important paragraph? Just use XE's Universal Search.
Timelines
Plot your novel by organizing cards along colored timelines.

[livejournal.com profile] sarolynne: Seems complicated. But. Shiny.
[livejournal.com profile] askerian: XD yeah.
[livejournal.com profile] askerian: I would have downloaded it just for the collapsible outline thing. That's exactly what I've been wishing I had for mermaids.
[livejournal.com profile] askerian: hell, I was thinking of making myself a wiki XD

No, seriously. Outlines: Create a collapsible tree of plot ideas. How sexy is that.

*glomp* That program sounds amazing. And I give your winged hatchlings another day or so... their view/unique view/click ratio looks about like mine.

You should post some screenshots if you use it (if you want ^_^) I'd be interested to see your background images! <33

Squee thanks a lot!

No problem at all, glad I could help!

[identity profile] kineko.livejournal.com 2008-07-19 06:07 pm (UTC)(link)
Bizarre comment?
Bon, j'ai put le télécharger et je suis en train de poker et d'essayer de comprendre la logique des gens qui l'ont fait. C'est un peu bizarre mais ça commence à venir.

[identity profile] anowack.livejournal.com 2008-07-19 03:02 pm (UTC)(link)
Huh. Wish I'd seen this yesterday. Don't know if it would have replaced my current method of writing, but it would have been fun to play with. Particularly since I'm in the outlining/brainstorming phase of my current project.

(Anonymous) 2008-07-19 03:27 pm (UTC)(link)
Man, it looks awesome; I managed to download it yesterday, but it won't let me install it today! ;.; Dangit... At least you got a hold of it, enjoy the outliner!

(Anonymous) 2008-07-19 07:33 pm (UTC)(link)
Yes, it did. :3 I posted the comment above, then remembered there was rapidsearch, and a few links later I had Liquid Story binder! :D I do love the internet. <3

Dragons

[identity profile] silverkateyes.livejournal.com 2008-07-20 01:24 pm (UTC)(link)
You know, I've sworn for years to never get a livejounal account- and now I can totally and utterly blame you for making me break that promise. I saw your Dragons, and I just had to have some of my own, so then I had to get an account to get them... :laughs: oh, well. Out of camraderie, if nothing else, can you go click on my dragons? Plee~eese? :big kitty eyes:

Anyway, I've been a fan of yours for a while, and I thought that now I have the account, I should stop by and say hi. Can't wait for the next post of Teamwork (or Mermaids, when you finish squeeing over your shiney new program and figure out how it works :laughs)
