I'm not saying it doesn't make sense that the Kage of the country that's canonically a nest full of crazy psychopaths is actively involved in a plan to destroy other countries and rain war and destruction over everything! ... just... Dude, you got your OWN country, it's even one of the five great shinobi nations, the konoha thing happened ages and ages ago, can you stop it with the butthurt "I want REVEEEEENGE" over Konoha plz. It's pathetic.

Also, isn't Pain the Rain kage, too? D: When do they find the time to direct their countries with all that Bijuu-hunting and little reunions. Granted Tobi can teleport and Pain has bodies everywhere, but still...

... Dude, I just remembered Water country was the one with all that ethnic cleansing of bloodline-bearing people. ... Dude. I wonder if that was part of Madara's plan too, or just an unfortunate side effect. If it was voluntary... What the hell is your problem, man. "My clan doesn't love me so I'll kill everyone who has a bloodline because everyone who has a bloodline is evil and doesn't recognize my genius! -"I'll kill the elders... I don't plan to target anyone else." I utterly fail to be surprised. Still yay for the end of stupid OMG SASUKE IS EVIL NOW arguments. In his mind the Elders are corrupted and precipitated that situation, ergo he'll remove them. Prrrrt.

-I fucking love Suigetsu. He's such a snarky little bitch. *__* Also he makes awesome faces.

-"I'll give you one of the tailed beasts :D" I have a feeling Sasuke's reaction is kind of "...and? I can do it with my OWN power." Of course he might not spit on it if the power boost was there... but... But. It's still killing some innocent guy, and Sasuke's just reminded us that he doesn't do that. So unless the guy Madara is directing him to is an awful bastard (or the bijuu is still frolicking in the wild) ...

-Aww sulking Karin who got cut off by Sasuke and then had her thunder stolen by Madara. XDDD

-"But if you betray Akatsuki, you're dead." Yeeeah, threats are SO the way to keep Sasuke at heel. He's impressed, I can tell. XD

-I notice we didn't see Sasuke's reaction to Madara's "we'll take Naruto." And that... Yeeeah, I believe that's where Sasuke might draw the line. It's not the first time he's pretended to go along with some evil bastard for power/help, and then turned on them. He might even pretend he doesn't care about Naruto at all anymore (but that fond/nostalgic smile at the Naruto bridge.) He might even firmly believe Naruto's just some random passerby to him now!

But if the plot turns that way and Naruto is captured, then fuck it, no matter how much Sasuke snarls and angst about his new alliance and his new goals, in the end he won't let Madara kill him.

I am pretty sure Madara's entire motivation comes from being a butthurt emo boy who's true love, the first Hokage, didn't like his music. >.>

Otherwise, I imagine that Tsunade's reaction won't really be shown. (I was half surprised we got to see some of Naruto's--the standard seems to be to show the funeral, and some sad faces, and then get on with it. Clearly, Jiraiya is more awesome than that?) But in my head, she's grieved in private. T_T

Really, the only thing that I just CAN'T get over in this chapter is that motherfucking CHAIR. Oh my god, what is that thing? And why is Sasuke in it? Get away, Sasuke, before it infects you with it's lame sense of design!

Sasuke got a new show a few months ago on the home and garden network that is similar to "queer eye for the straight guy", but not really. He was praised for his hairtstyle (blatantly gay) and that black sleeveless outfit with the wrist tatoo thing, but he was fired just yesterday when he finally decided to do a show on interior decorating.

Yeah, but in Kisame's case that could as well be a cover for operating out of the village. (though i'm starting to get a bit tired of those super dangerous criminals who actually aren't. Itachi was enough. DX )

You know, I like Sasuke, I really do. But the kid has a habit of doing uber retarded things. Like run off with a crazy snake guy so he can get stronger and just avoid becoming possessed by him by a hair's breadth. Or going along with the story of the fucking head of Akatsuki when the kid knows the dude has every reason on earth to pick and choose truth and lie to get Sasuke to do what he wants him to.

XD Oh yeah, with his "no one tells me what to do" and "i'll make my own way" sometimes you get the feeling he does stupid shit just to prove he don't gotta listen to his elders.

And that would be why I'm strongly reminded of a three year old every time Sasuke makes an important choice.

When you don't post, it's like Shippuden doesn't exist. I like it that way. When you do post spoilers, I find myself staring at the trainwreck and wondering what drugs Kishi is on (or coming down from).

Madara's a total addict. Even if he ruled the world, I don't think he'd be satisfied with it. He'd probably screw it up so that he'd lose ownership (somehow) and then spend his time trying to rule the world again.

Tsunade already knows Jiraiya is dead...it was right after he died; one of the frogs had sent her the message. She promptly got drunk afterwards... (I think it was something like that; the memory is a little fuzzy)

I looked at the chapter again, and somehow I still don't fully get that she got the message -- to me when i read it last time it was just a "what is Tsunade doing while Jiraiya kicks it" thing, and even now I still can't see how it's implied that she's been told. x__x I must be missing something.

.... I really really really want Sasuke to ask for Kyuubi as his tailed beast... with the condition that it's still in Naruto.

IMHO he didn't ask for a tailed beast and doesn't especially want one, but he'd seem suspect if he refused and he's still playing nice. Still, sacrificing strangers voluntarily for Madara's good? I have a hard time seeing it... >.>

I had an odd translation for that chapter. Instead of "I'll kill the elders... I don't plan to target anyone else." it was "We eliminate the top tier. That's all I've come up with." which made me go "O RLY SAS-GAY". I suppose the two translations mean the same thing if I close one eye and do a handstand. Yeah.

Sasuke totally does not trust Madara. I mean, really, we all can see this and the fact that Madara hasn't picked up on it yet (it seems) is really evidence of just how deluded and driven he is, (this sounds familiar). Sasuke's just biding his time. Again. Then he's going to be a backstabbing little jerk. Again.

Kishimoto has hinted that another major-ish character will die in the future. In my mind it's either Tsunade, Kakashi or Iruka. Tsunade because if we're going to follow the idea of the old sannin dying to make way for the new, she's next. As for Kakashi and Iruka, what better way to convince the main character to kill the bad guys than to have them kill of his mentors, (Iruka especially)?

God, as much as I feel sorry for Naruto right now - the power play going on in that little DragonBall hut in the forest (seriously, where the hell are they? >_<) took the cake for me in this chapter.

Just... Madara questioning Sasuke's team and Sasuke supporting them surreptitiously by implying that Suigetsu will someday be able to beat Kisame (just as HE is waiting to beat Madara? ^^), Sasuke cutting off Karin's explanation because otherwise MADARA wouldn't have answered himself - thus ignoring him, Kisame discovering Madara's identity and calling him sama (wasn't he a missing nin?! Then again, his kage is a missing nin too!), Madara trying to assert his control on Sasuke but being perfectly aware that he can't be trusted - and most especially, NOT TRUSTING SASUKE TO GO AFTER THE NINE TAILS HIMSELF. ^O^ I wonder why!

Also, Sasuke - is THAT how you normally sit down on chairs? Because it looks a little painful to me... ^^;

I don't think we've seen the last of Tsunade's reaction, by the way. Remember we didn't get either Tsunade's or Jiraiya's reactions when Orochimaru died, but then a few chapters later they got drunk together and discussed old times and let their feelings known... so I expect to see her reaction eventually. After all, we only got a few pages of Konoha this time - next week we'll probably get something more! ^__^
