I second your motion for some TEAM KONOHA! All this Uchiha-angst is killing me T_T This last chapter has me kinda teary eyed for both Itachi and Sasuke-- I don't even know what to think. Naruto needs to find Sasuke NOW and irritate/charm/smex! the angst of him ;_;
But Itachi... half of me wants to *rolleye at his tragic story while the other half just wants to bawl my eyes out. God, loving his brother THAT MUCH, going through all that just to die (and die happy) so that he can ensure Sasuke's safety and reputation in Konoha... grrr, I seriously want someone to punt those village elders into a mudpit- and don't get me started on Danzo. The last few chapters have seriously got me convinced that Konoha doesn't deserve any of those characters. All of our favorite ninjas need to just start their own village without these back-handed old bastards >:(

Also, Sasuke has a bad tendency to get slutty around powerful ninja. I'm a little worried he'll go all "Sucky sucky, five techniques" on Madara. Plus, if he joins the Akatsuki, Naruto's heart will break into pieces all over again, which he doesn't deserve.
At least he hasn't done a "What IF Kyuubi never attacked the village" arc where everyone appears well adjusted and happy or dead in a gutter.

...well, that's what was playing in my mind when I got to the last page, anyway. XD
Love the new outfit except for the short sleeves, love all the new possibilities that have opened up to Sasuke right now... but I'm still wondering:
1) Why the hell Madara told Sasuke all this.
2) Why the hell Madara told Zetsu to bring with him ITACHI'S CORPSE and then nothing was done with it. What? Did Zetsu eat him? Is Madara planning some sort of necrophilia? Did Sasuke take Itachi's body with him and toss him into the sea as way of a funeral, and that's why he's staring lovingly at the ocean? EXPLANATION NEEDED HERE, PLEASE! >_<
Also, lol at the lover comment. I doubt it's anything important, it was just something Kishi felt he had to add to show the readers that yes, Itachi did put Sasuke above ALL OTHER KINDS OF BONDS HE HAD, thank you very much. ^o^ Clearly, Sasuke was above lover-level for him!

It would also tie in with Naruto's determination to become Hogake and fix everything.
Maybe Sasuke will finally slow down now and go examine everything and try to find out the truth… while Naruto is blindly banging around. Then when it seems like everything is going down the drain he'll show up and *poor* save everyone.
At least… that's what I would do if it was my comic. Also, because I like the idea of heroic!Sasuke. Because damn, the boy needs a break.
As to the truth: my gut is telling me that it's actually a mish-mash of what Itachi and Madara told Sasuke, and we'll be finding out which was what sooner or later.

IT INVOLVES 'NARUTO' AND 'UP YOUR ASS.';DDDThese new twists are fun--hurray for sexually active thirteen-year-olds, just what the world needs :D--but I'm pretty much treating it like everything else; it just adds more possibilities and potential in the fics. (The driving force behind fanfiction: if you don't like it, change it, don't sit there and whine. Isn't that what personal cannon's about?) I'm not a cannon whore, so cannon generally ends up being more of a guideline than anything else. Besides, being elitist gets boring after awhile--there're only so many different ways to portray the same thing.

Madara's totally playing him and I'm little irritated that Sasuke can't see that...for now. Oh Sasuke...
Here's to Sasuke and Naruto potentially teaming up together to kick the shit out of the rest of Akatsuki, because I don't believe the whole Sasuke SMASH KONOHA line is going fly too far. We may get some destruction and infiltration and possibly the death of Tsunande (because the other two Sennin are dead and Kishimoto seems to be pushing the replacement of them with team 7) and Danzo's definitely going to die, (ooh ooh, what about Sai?). But in the end, I think Naruto and co. will be able to knock some sense into him (literally) and they'll all have a happy party preventing Pein from making the world go BOOM, (kiiiiiind of impossible to forget the destruction of the world, though Sasuke doesn't know about this little plan yet).
All and all, I am very excited to see how all of this develops.
