1) So the genjutsu lasts three bazilion pages! But somehow the second it goes physical Itachi is already pushed into using Amaterasu. We haven't even seen a full glamrockSuke yet! What. *kicks Itachi in the ribs* be more badass, asshole, how are we supposed to feel anything.

2) The way Sasuke touches his wrist-seals will never not be sexy. Also with the shadow shuriken:

5) Fire is sexy. But there better be more new devastating never-seen ninjutsu in this fight than fire of funny non-firey colors. And hand-to-hand. And impaling with blades. *_* Yes. (on that note, with how large the blade Itachi got in his leg was, shouldn't he have a lot of muscles cleanly cut now? How does he move around then?)

6) questofdreams: maybe by the end of this fight, Itachi will be totally blind and Sasuke will pity him too much to finish him off.
questofdreams: Sasuke barely came out of his fight with Deidara alive though. I imagine Itachi will HAVE to do worse.

Once again, they stretch out every single movement so the episode will cover like half a chapter each time, except with more DRAMATIC PAUSES. Boooring. How long do they need to swallow a goddamn wood pill? and wow, how amazingly versatile and convenient yamato's powers are... Hrrrn. I like the character, but could his powers be more godmoddy, I'm not sure.

Seeing it animated, I can really appreciate the strangeness of the balance of power in the Oro-Kabu-Sai meet Sasuke scene. He's like sitting on his throne being an asshole, and they're all standing in a line facing him like good subjects, all their attention turned toward him. The body language really didn't say anything about the fact that Orochimaru is supposed to be in control, not Sasuke.

Sai is v. pretty. Also I like the light in the underground lair. This whole face-to-face is awakening my interest in SasuSai something fierce. Anyone seen good fic for them?

Also, Oro and Kabuto are totally married. ♥

I'm excited to see Sasuke go *rawr* and unravel Sai's control. mmmmm. That will be yum.

And as YamaSakuNaru were going through Sai's book... made me wonder if these ninjas EVER pick up any books of any sort if it took them flipping the pages back and forth half a dozen times to realize 'hey, he looks like Sai and his clothes change on each page!!' >_>

I was reminded of the Wave Country in chapter 387 when they had a swarm of shuriken and windmill shuriken. And this week it was even more. Did he even learn something from Orochimaru?

Oh, the anime. It's taken a year and 47 episodes and we are almost back at the beginning.

I think it is in the shounen rules somewhere that no matter how much you train, you only upgrade your previous techniques. Or if you are very lucky, you can have a new hyped one which turns out to useless.

Yeah, his only new technique seems to be the snake summoning, and even then he managed to lose the biggest one. All the rest he could have developed back home. The hell. x_x

I agree with Questy. The only way Sasuke can win this fight is if he has team 7 flashbacks.

Also, holy shit, I fangirled so hard when Sasuke used his and Naruto's technique. Well, mostly Naruto's, actually... Not the point. The point is that it is The Sasuke and Naruto Shuriken Jutsu (or the kage bunshin shuriken jutsu, whatever *rolls eyes at technicalities*) and therefore is awesome and indicative of Sasuke actually having taken something from that time with him. \o/

I haven't seen the new ep yet, but Sasuke is in it, so I'll probably go find it after class and fast forward to the good parts. ^^;;

*snorts* Glamrock!Suke ftw! I will call him that from now on. Who knows, maybe Kishimoto was a closet X-Japan or Boowy fan and his tribute was to make Sasuke look like he walked from an early X-Japan video XD.

Seeing some of the comments here reminds me how when Naruto went all Kyuubi and how much he used the Kyuubi's power people wondered what did he learn from Jiraiya in those three years if all his learning had to come *afterwards* from Kakashi and Yamato. It seems to me that the same thing can be said with Sasuke...apart from being able to summon snakes from his body (the one coming out from his curse seal was icky but 10-Rankai did HILARIOUS comics with that!)and having tattoos to actually lessen the need for hand seals, what else did Orochimaru teach him. In the battle, he uses a technique he already had with Naruto, genjutsu that he is naturally good at, fire jutsus that are his family's specialty so...what did Oro teach him? It kinda make me go WTF?! if the only thing Orochimaru did was how to control and maybe manipulate the curse seal. Maybe he has something hidden in his sleeve?

Hmm, Itachi going blind does make it difficult for him to continue, plus using Tsukiyomi leaves him weak and now he is using Amaterasu which leaves EVEN weaker, his whole sharingan goes away. I wonder if Kisame will come rescue his partner? Damn, Itachi knows how to fly in between shurinken, flexible boy is flexible. But I expected a little more from him. Still...I can't help but like the fact that Kishimoto is making not as invinsible as he seemed to be.

Damn, I am a nerd if I can talk about manga this way ^___^;;

Anime: Kabuto and Orochimaru are like an old married couple, especially when Orochimaru is all pouty that Kabuto is cleaning his things and demanding a new body for his collection (CREEEEPY!!!) Kabuto is even more motherly sounding in the anime when he tells Sasuke to stop messing with Sai. Ahh, the nuclear family XD.

Wow.... at least I'm not the only not not amazed by Itachi ability to walk after an injury like that. For real though..... ninja or not... you're be more likely to crawl away or hop away if that much muscle and, quite possibly, bone got cut into. I'm going to be mean about this, but I hated the anime since the moment they started airing it. Hate. The animation is complete crap, the storyline is elongated to the point of SHOWING FLASHBACKS FROM THE EPISODE IN THE EPISODE (45). No sense in this... no. Cut back the airing time for real. *huffs* XD I download them and never watch them........because I get so annoyed and whiney. And I hate being like that. XD

true, true. I watched the anime for a while (read: entire first season, just because I don't usually read manga) and then switched to the manga. Still, there is *one* part I'm waiting for to come out on the episodes. He he... anyone who says Konohamaru isn't a genius is a dork. And then I'm going to copy it, and scream to all of my freinds who don't believe that 'HA! Yaoi IS canon!!!' and they'll be like 'what?' and I'll be like 'yes!!!'

I liked that Sasuke didn't wait to see what Itachi was going to do with the Amaterasu. The ninjas do that all the time, then get hurt, then kick-ass, but they could have headed off the whole thing by interrupting the bad guy first. I also liked the wires, because that was always kind of Sasuke's thing, and of course the big shuriken made me squee. We all remember what Naruto made his uber Rasengan into.
So let me re-pose the question: did anyone but Sakura learn anything from the Sannin? Since we all ask it, I figured I could. ^_^

yes, yes he did. He learned how to beat the crap out of them. And make them look whiny and pathetic, so that Kabuto would totally be like "I'll make myself half you, and half me!" like some demented organ donor/mad scientist.
Seriously, he's *dead* Kabuto. You're just going to have to go find a new hunny. Because you can't make wild passionate monkey love to yourself.

Lol, the anime! ^^ I usually don't even watch it, but this week I made an exception because of Sasuke and... seriously, at a certain point I just HAD to scream out 'WILL YOU JUST EAT THAT DAMN PILL ALREADY'! And they tell me it was even worse in the previous weeks. >_< I don't even want to know.

As for the manga, eh... Sasuke dominating for the entire chapter WAS pretty strange, but I still have faith in Kishimoto (at least in regards to this): he said he would satisfy everyone with this fight, and I seriously doubt anyone might think Sasuke winning against Itachi just because his brother has been rendered almost blind and useless would ever be satisfying (for either Itachi or SASUKE fans). -_-;

So, I wait patiently - and in the meantime, enjoy the wrist tattoos and the shadowshuriken!yayNaruto/Team7moment! ^___^

I want to see Itachi in enormous, coke-bottle-lensed, nerd glasses. He is pretty much as blind as me. Well, not quite as bad. He can still make out Sasuke's eyes from ten feet away. To me, Sasuke would be a whitish pinkish blackish smudge. Radiating hate.

His glasses can have black plastic frames to better match his emo tears of blood, though, if he wants. I can accept that.

I'm actually glad to see Kishimoto is keeping Itachi on the same level, at least. When he used Mangekyou on Kakashi and Sasuke, he retreated soon afterwards. And Kisame scolded him for using his eyes too much--I wonder how much Itachi has told Kisame about the impending blindness and how he planned to fix it. I suppose it's too bad that he's alone, and that Sasuke doesn't plan on letting him retreat, huh?

The fight will probably be over soon, judging by Itachi's pattern. Amaterasu isn't infallible and can be sealed--Jiraiya used a scroll to contain the black flames once. I'm sure he still has stuff up his sleeves, but he's running low on options. I bet the final moves will be coming in a half dozen chapters or so soon. Sasuke might have held out against Tsukuyomi simply because Itachi's Mangekyou techniques may be growing weaker as he goes blind. I doubt he really wants to burn Sasuke to death because he really wants those eyes!

Sasuke's smart and waiting until the optimal times to attack/kill people. That's so like him.

And thank you for pointing out him using the idea Naruto came up with--I would've probably missed that entirely if you hadn't of mentioned it! Really, Sasuke pretends like he doesn't care, but if you read him right, he's really damn obvious. Too bad Naruto doesn't know how to read him anymore....

I guess it's because I started reading the manga two years ago and everything seemed fast paced when I caught up... but recently the fights have seemed agonizingly slow. I mean, they're cool, and I've been looking forward to this one for so long that for some reason I'm disappointed. Not like I knew what to expect. I'm glad it is more balanced than I would have expected though...
