Oh Tobi, cool. He's still oddly high-spirited for a S-rank criminal mastermind, but he didn't come off as quite as braindead-silly. Kinda snarky, in fact. *_*

... Also, goddamnit, I'm tainted by fandom. Why is it that i can't enjoy the Hinata and Sakura reactions for what they are, instead of imagining the shipper wars?

I can see it so clearly. *headdesk* yeah, add that to the "LOL Sakura told Hinata off for paying close attention to her man" and "No! she's jealous and possessive because she knows Hinata is a challenger!" ... not touching the narutoforums for a few days.

... Oh Jiraiya ;_; I didn't care for the longest time, seriously, but his death scene was so cutely dorky and yet so poignant... *squishloves* Also aw hell, Tsunade. *petpets*

No, actually I think Tsunade has a better chance of being left behind to be the mourning queen in her tower, at least until Naruto is mature enough to take her place. Even if he does beat Akatsuki, no one's gonna give him the Hokage spot NOW, not with the way people distrust him. XD He's too young. Gaara is his age, true, but he spent those two years with his people, gaining their trust. Also he's still and quiet, so he comes across as thoughtful and thinking deep thoughts. Naruto... not so much. XDD

I seriously doubt that will happen. It would steal Naruto's thunder for one thing, and besides kakashi might have the abilities for it -- smarts and power -- but his temperament so doesn't work for it. If that's foreshadowing, I seriously hope everyone treats it as Kakashi being a regent until Naruto is old enough, because Kakashi being hokage for realz = do not want. XP

I loved Jiraiya since his first appearance and now his gone ;__________; I can't imagine Tsunade and Naruto reactions, also what akapiratequeen told about expecting Tsunade's death = truth and fail T__________T

Also, I think that Sasuke is the one smiling and not Itachi, it doesn't have thoese weird age lines around. I could be mistaken of course.

Yup, it's definitely Sasuke. The last three panels of that chapter go Sasuke-Itachi-Sasuke.

(Eeeee, I love how melodramatic they are~ Itachi goes *pose* *cryptic statement* *lookit mah poker face* and Sasuke goes *walkwalkpose* *dramallama I see you dead* *fisheye* and then for some reason on 383p15 Itachi looks like he's stoned, and then moar poker face as Itachi goes all *shunshin* *poseposepose* and Sasuke goes *they said I couldn't look any more psychotic but what now bitches* *SMILE OF TEH DOOM* and Itachi goes *wtf emotion on my little brother's face?* and there's more crazy smileage and then the chapter ends.

*__* Sasuke and Itachi's forthcoming fight makes me feel all warm and fizzy inside...I'm not even into uchihacest, but damn, their storyline is HAWT. They both look so hot and badass.

I'm sad for Jiraiya's death, I really am, but I'm soooooo grateful this fight is over, because seriously, endless Pein-vs-Jiraiya chapters were endless.

Not forgive it. The only thing that would have gotten me to forgive it was a fake spoiler I really wanted to be true, about Jiraiya managing to destroy one of the clones and then dying, and THEN Jiraiya's body gets up and it has rinnegan eyes. That would have been so evilcruelawesome. Instead he gets a cliche chivalrous death (even if what he said was hilarious, which made it more real/poignant). I srsly hope Pain fishes that body out and uses it good. >:(

Ah, I read that fake spoiler too. That would have been an awesome plot development IMO, in a twisted and sadistic kind of way.

Hopefully Naruto's reaction over Jiraiya's death won't be a mere "OMGYOUWILLPAYRAWR", I mean, it has to affect him more than Asuma or even Sandaime's death. I want to see some angst dammit, and not just in the compulsory funerals chapter. I also kind of want to see Sakura comforting Naruto... or something.

Although Sasuke is making me worried. I have a feeling that even if he wins against Itachi, he'll end up dying anyway. Like to save Naruto _again, or something silly like that.

The Tobito theory is still plausible. Tobi might have needed a body that possessed sharingan, and Obito's body was left behind outside the Konoha grounds... Then again, Obito was never introduced in the Anime, so it would be hard to pull it off later, in the midsts of the action. Meh. At this point I'd say we can expect almost anything.

My personal theory is that tobi might still be obito. See brain damage is a tricky thing and combine it with massive pain of being crushed/near death experiance, well it is plausible that this madara can just be a alter personality made to cope with the damage. So in short it's obito thinking he is madara playing as tobi... does that make any sense to anyone else?

Well...why does Tobi cover one eye? Would the sharingan not be more efficient with both eyes open? I can't say whether they're setting us up for another obvious like Naruto and Minato, but recognizing that Obito is the only other full blooded Uchiha with one eye is setting us up for the comparison. It's something only time will tell, but boy would the anime watchers be confused. They never met Obito

Even if Tobi isn't Obito, I really think that Kishi wants us to think he is (for whatever reason). The eye thing just seems to obvious to not be an intentional parallel even if it might not be followed through in the way we expect.

But oh I miss Jiraiya already, he really was one of my favourite characters. I also don't think Tsunade will die for the same reasons you mentioned earlier, Naruto just isn't ready to take her place yet, and who else (that we've met) would?

Yeah, Jiraiya's death, while ending on the awesome, didn't really have as much... IMPACT for me as they usually do. Maybecause we've all learned to recognize Kishimoto-sensei's pattern by now. I mean, when we started seeing all that stuff about his past DURING a fight, who didn't go "Oh, yep, he's gonna die"?

And we STILL don't know who Pain is! *metaphorically gnaws hard on mangaka*

I'm holding out on the Tobito thing only for a friend's sake, but, seriously? I think I've figured Kishimoto out. It would be JUST like him to hint forever -and-a-day that Tobi is Obito after showing us Kakashi Gaiden (when are they showing this in the anime?) and then do a big reveal and say "HA! see, Kyuubi's comment about Uchiha Madara was the first hint!" or something like that.

I did enjoy this chapter as well, squee! Glad the Tobito stuff is finally over... it was getting annoying seeing people argue about it all the time. And Jiraiya's end was indeed sweet.

Uchihacest... oh man you're going to make me go crawling back to reread my favorite fics for the gazillionth time....
