-How the hell did Suigetsu know to look at his scroll just then. Did it vibrate or something? XD Also, how the hell did it even work? I mean, I don't remember suigetsu having manda's scroll, wouldn't sasuke have that? or did sasuke transfer them to another scroll? or did he just send them back to wherever summons come from and waited to be called back in which case how the hell did suigetsu know to summon them back? aaahhh I don't understand how it woooorks. (also wasn't sasuke out of chakra. HMM.)

-Injured!exhausted!Sasuke = MOLESTMOLEST.

-OMFG MANDA. That's -- very callous in a way, since manda was a living, sentient being, and he used him as a meat shield, and yet -- he survived by summoning and getting inside the snake? dude. SO FUCKING COOL. *__* (also manda was an asshole anyway. prrr. But seriously the sharingan-ed eyes to show a genjutsu? ahaha what why. XD;;)

-... I loved it when Sasuke said he only beat Orochimaru because Oro had been weakened at the time. It proves he's proud of his abilities, and he knows he's kickass, but he still knows his limits and he's not about to lie about them (at least to his allies) to make himself look flawless. He didn't even have to brag, he could have said nothing and let Karin assume whatever she wanted, but instead he corrected her that he'd just chosen his time carefully. sohappy. He's proud, but not to the point that he blinds himself or others to the truth. *__*

-I didn't love it when, after all this time teasing us with POSSIBILITIES OF MEETINGS BETWEEN SNAKE AND KONOHA PEOPLE ZOMG, they all just somehow miss anyone from the other group and flow back together. It's just cheap. What was the goddamn point then? They needed to see the explosion? Why tease us with "zomg they are separating, who will meet with who from x other team???" in that case, the konoha kids could have just been arriving in the area... Blah. Pretty annoying. It feels like the only thing Kishi wanted that couldn't have happened anywhere else was Karin and Sakura crossing paths. (ZOMG FORSHADOWING~ >.>) They could have met with Kabuto on the way to their destination... since the only thing he wanted was to talk to Naruto, and Hinata did jack shit, Kabuto could have popped up any time they took a break for the night and naruto went his own way or something. Laaame. Kishi, you cocktease.

-Aww they're so mean to poor Tobi. ;_; But I like to see that they respected Deidara, even with his loud, forceful, "don't care about orders, i have my pride and i like to fight" personality. He really was badass. X3

Actually, I kinda feel sad that Manda is dead because Manda was a bigger queen that Orochimaru and I thought anyone who bitched to Orochimaru like that was cool (XD, I loved when Oro was fighting Jiraiya and Tsunade, Manda demanded good sacrifices for his help XD, a snake with attitude regarding its food wins in my book!) The WTFSASUKEUKEELEDME! moment was kinda ;_; for me.

I am evil, I was happy that Sasuke got singed by Dei's explosion, just to make sure he stayed humble (and he did). One thing that i liked about Karin that while she did fangirled Sasuke, she still called him weak...something that Sakura at one point would have never done. Maybe she would do it now, do not want to be unfair.

I was pleasantely surprised there is a girl in the Akatsuki...although she reminds me of Orochi. Did he count as female or did he just steal the girl's colors? ROFL.

I'm kinda annoyed that there's only ONE girl in the akatsuki actually. and it's the classical cold, dark beauty with a bun and a flower and make-up. ew. XD Why not a punkass girl or something. And if she's only in the Akatsuki because she's in love with leader-sama or real-leader-sama and wants to serve their ambitions, I'll puke. (though apparetly her hair is blue. I approve. :3)

Yeah, I liked Manda, he was so ballsy and unpleasant. XDDD But still, OMG. dude. I don't know why it makes me go UNF but. XD;;; I feel bad for him, Sasuke just used him like that, he doesn't kill humans but apparently summons don't deserve the same consideration. Woe.

Sakura did, in fact, call Sasuke a coward on one memorable occasion. XD (Forest of Death, second exam. Which proved that she was starting to really see *him* and not just the perfect dark-and-handsome image she had of him (and she loved him anyway. awww.)) Calling him a coward is even worse than pointing out he's weak, which, yeah, he knows that at the moment he is. XD
(but yes, hurt!sasuke and humbled!sasuke = always good)

oh yes! I remember that now, thanks for reminding me. I am not a big Sakura fan so I am not surprised I forgot XD.

I think when Sasuke did his jutsu he probably chose the strongest summon to guarantee survival so that was pretty much it, he didn't have to figure out another way. He had a quick mind to figure out some way out of the explosion. Although OMG, manda was the coolest of all the summons so I am not sure killing one of his strongest weapons ahead of time was a good idea ^___^;;;. I am going to miss that snake because it felt so important XD.

I have been really unhappy on how Sasuke killed Oro so I am glad Kishimoto had Sasuke say that because it explans that a Sannin in top condition would have been a bitch to defeat.

Singed Sasuke just humanizes him for me, even if Naruto can be jesus, sometimes Sasuke gets to be too godlike to me. It just irritates the hell out of me, I like to see his limitations too...

I don't know that I'd call her classical cold beauty. It looked like she had a piercing under her lip, and with the flower and heeeeeavy eye makeup, I half expect her to take off her robe and have tattoos of pinup girls or something. Clearly I'm a terrible, judgmental person, but my first thought of their team in general was that, dude, what are you? Team Mad Accessory? Or perhaps Team Trying Too Hard To Look Hardcore?

aww! I know your pain, I was getting ready to go out when they posted the chapter, and then i spent 20 minutes refreshing the link and being told the server was at full capacity, argh. Somehow I managed to grab it just before we left (okay so we were a little late. whatevat, the family's used to it. I NEEDED THAT CHAPTER. XDDD would have found a way to sneak away and steal a look on their computer otherwise.)

I know you can't spend hours on one panel or anything, but he got lax, especially on Sakura and Tsunade and Sasuke...and, somehow, Sasuke still manages to be f'ing gorgeous. *>.<*

I found it interesting that the Leader-who-might-not-actually-be-Leader lied to Itachi about Sasuke's death. Why would he do it? Was he trying to get a reaction out of Itachi?

Hmm, I'm not sure he really *lied*. From what they knew of the explosion Sasuke had died too. It was afterwards that it was confirmed by real-leader-sama that Sasuke had survived. Not-so-Leader-sama had to ask what happened to him.

... Though that implies he suspected he might not be dead...

...and still didn't tell Itachi.

*raises hand* Completely random lurker offering a theory on bullet number five.

Team Hebi's rendezvous point was set before they split up and consequently was not actually near the Deidara blast site. Hence, when they started heading to said rendezvous point, the Konoha-nin were either heading to the blast site or to their own designated meeting spot (since the only person they [RE: Kakashi] confirmed was at the blast site was an Akatsuki member, and Akatsuki was not supposed to be their main target). Thus, the two teams were heading in different directions and no meetings occurred. Still lame, but possible.

...and I think I've lost count of the Akatsuki members, unless they've been replacing as they go along or something. ^^;;;

Akatsuki had ten members at the start; Orochimaru left with his ring and so he was never replaced, bringing the numbers down to nine. There's Zetsu the man-plant, then Kisame and Itachi, Kakuzu and Hidan, now we have not-so-leader-sama and flower girl, and then we had Deidara and Sasori, who then died and was replaced by Tobi. That's ten at most at the same time.

I suspect the mysterious real-leader-sama either isn't in Akatsuki, just their backer or employer, or he just doesn't have a ring to participate in the sealing because he's not supposed to exist to the rest of the organization.

Yayyay, you can count better than I can~ *waves flags* Seriously, I could not wrap my head around the Akatsuki member count, even when writing it out myself. ^^;;

...and err, as nicely as my earlier statement on the whole rendezvous points thing made sense, I think I've just debunked part of it. ^^;; Re-reading from the Japanese, when Suigetsu notices the explosion, he comments that the 'shuugoubasho'--gathering point/rendezvous area--is 'asoko' or 'ano atari', which is 'in that area', presumably referring to the blast site he's looking at.

So, I fix my explanation to saying, instead, that Karin probably located Juugo and Suigetsu, then headed for Suigetsu's area since he was the only one between those two who was staying stationary, assuming that Sasuke would be there when they arrived. So, those two didn't head toward the blast site--instead went for Suigetsu--while the Konoha-nin went to blast site/their own rendezvous point. Haha. ^^;;

...now the big questions lie in: Why would Karin assume that Sasuke'd be wherever Suigetsu is? (Heheheh on that question. Though I don't ship Sasuke and Suigetsu myself.) If Sasuke did 'just come up' with the idea of using Manda as a meat shield, as some translators imply, why would he have had prior preparations with Suigetsu concerning the snake summoning scroll and the bottle of blood? (Personally, I wouldn't have translated that line as 'just coming up' with the plan, but I guess it's a little hard to localize otherwise.) If Sasuke was out of chakra, how would he be able to summon Manda and use a genjutsu on him on top of that?

But I'm guessing some of these things just don't have answers. Unless Karin already suspects that those two might be closer than she'd like them to be. XD

FINALLY someone I can talk to about this! The scroll, if you note was probably given to him by Sasuke because if you notice he didn't use HIS blood to summon him, but used a bottle of blood and poured it on :) I really liked how Manda was being USED by Sasuke and of course he belongs on his knees he looks his best there XD

Ohh, you're right. But in that case, why did Sasuke think to give him the scroll to carry? Maybe because he has the tattoo anyway and doesn't need it, so someone else might as well...? But in that case why suigetsu? ~~they're boning that's why~~

If I had to guess? The one who is pulling the strings is Mandara (or whatever his name was, the person who the Kyuubi alludes to when he "meets" Sasuke for the first time....and/or the guy Itachi alludes to when he says that if Sasuke can create a Mangekyou Sharingan, then there will be three people in the world that can use one.

It was sort of cheap to use Manda that way. I guess this means that Naruto has one edge on Sasuke besides his super-rasengan-that-also-screws-him-up jutsu. He can summon the king toad, when Sasuke has polverized his ultimate summons. (Incidentally, I'm wishing Naruto would show some summoning tricks now...he's improved in all the other skills he had before the time skip, and some of Jirayia's deadliest tricks involved his summons). Now all Naruto has to do is: counter superspeed, counter sharingan guided expert swordman skills (with or without said sword also being supercharged with chidori or formed from pure chakra), a horribly powerful genjutsu that's apparently capable of disabling the kyuubi's chakra, a cursed seal that increases the user's power 10 times, a series of fire jutsus that (let's remember) can cut straight through Naruto's carefully aquired super-technique, and whatever other trump card Sasuke has yet to use.

The leader looks alot like Naruto and the 4th. Which means nothing to me, since these days every third character looks either like Naruto or Sasuke, depending on the hair color. Still, it might be interesting.

I doubt we've seen the last of Tobi. He did get back up when Sasuke cut him down. He might have something that let's him revive. Just in time to get picked up by the Konoha squad.

And if you think about it, Juugo has longuish Naruto hair too, he just lacks the front. The only thing it means is that Kishimoto sucks at varying his character designs. XD

For all we know about Madara he could as well be a throwaway name to give some background or foreshadowing between naruto and sasuke. Maybe Naruto will go four tails or more and Sasuke will have to subdue him before he kills everyone. Who knows. ^^

It's the summoning tattoo for the snakes, it means he doesn't have to do the hand seals, he just has to smear some of his blood on it and voilà, a snake. ^^

And about Itachi, I don't think he believes for a moment that Sasuke's dead but I would've loved to see more of a reaction from him too aaaaaa.

Also, Suigetsu is totally Sasuke's bitch. I mean, he must've had an idea what, if not who he was going to summon, but he did it anyway despite the imminent danger because Sasuke told him to. Or maybe I just hadn't expected this level of loyalty in Team Hebi...

About Itachi, I would love to see him leave so he can actually check it out himself. I just can't see him being so loyal to an organisation that he would just meekly accept that his favorite little experiment was killed off on their word.

I really think Suigetsu honestly likes (I don't mean romantic-like! XD) Sasuke and that's why he puts up with him, even despite all that bitching and testing Sasuke he does. Hell, I think what he likes most is poking at Sasuke to see how he reacts. XD As such, yeah, I think he does trust Sasuke quite a bit. At least not to backstab him. >.>

Ahh, if only we knew more about how he got the scroll and what he expected it to do and stuff. *flails*

I was kind of under the impression, the whole sacrifice Manda plan was "that jutsu" Sasuke was referring to in the previous chapter (or was it the one before that XD) and that would semi explain how Suigetsu had the scroll and the bottle of Sasuke's blood and knew what to do with it, but not when he knew to use it-- Which leads me to believe either Sasuke has someway to communicate with others while being digested by snakes, or he sent up a signal with Deidara's explosion.

I think that Sasuke said in the 362 that he had an alternative plan for the bombs of Deidara if his chidori didn't work, maybe was Manda and he tell Suigetsu that and that's why he look at the scroll.

On one hand, I agree that Sasuke using Manda like that was a little disturbing. On the other... consider Manda's character, as we've seen it - particularly the demanding sacrifices part. I don't think that canon Sasuke, in any version, would buy into that particular summoning method. If he were to interact with Manda at all, it would be in the same manner that he interacted with Orochimaru: "Temporarily working together because we're useful to each other, but underneath it all, enemy, and if I see a chance to take you out, I'll take it." Two birds, one stone.

Although it's worth pointing out that, when Suigetsu is scolding him "you need to treat animals more carefully!" Sasuke does mention, "there wasn't time to be more careful." Suggesting that, had he not been right at ground zero as he summoned Manda and Deidara went boom, he might have taken the time to negotiate with Manda, or call a different snake. But he didn't have time, he just grabbed the only snake he was confident could shield him from the blast and didn't waste time (that he didn't have) negotiating.

And I love Suigetsu and the way he interacts with Sasuke. All poke-poke, taunt-taunt, and then he sees the explosion and says, "No way..." And then the look on his face as he's preparing to do the summon...! And, of course, when he knows that Sasuke is okay, goes right back to teasing. ^_^

(By the by - my read of the scroll was that it was a failsafe that Sasuke gave to Suigetsu, just in case. And it says a lot that he chose to give it to Suigetsu.)
