Art dump...

Contained therein:

-One (1) watercolor thing of Sakura climbing rocks in a bra and low-low-cut shorts. Do not ask me why, your feeble minds wouldn't comprehend my reasoning. I don't understand it myself, but hey, arteest's privilege. u.u
-One (1) Ninja-Sue!Asuka sketch, because I felt like inventing naruto OC designs.
-One (1) Ninja-Sue![livejournal.com profile] sarolynne, because it was her birthday and hey, look, it's an Inuzuka Saro.
-One (1) very in-progress sketch thing of Team Hebi, which I already dislike for the composition sucks and also what possessed me to start sketching directly on the computer, did I forget how annoying it was last time argh.

The only proportions horrendously off are my womaly hips and narrow waist, which would actually be more of the other way around. And Saro not looking tall enough. She's 6'1 IRL and I'm, um. 5'1 ? If we're being generous.

Yeah. ._.

OMG!!! These are all amazing, varying shades of "SO F'ING HOTT" - I don't know how to describe the awesome of it all! *too busy having eyegasms to think properly, kthanx* The coloring in each of them is especially great, which just brings the fabulousness of this to another level. *^____^*

...and then YOU! You look f'ing awesome. The colors! The _clothes_ (so hott)! The breastswaisthipslegsarmsexpression! And that sword! [If you're 5'1" and I'm 5'4", your sword would be like...my height. *>.<*]

...Saro...omg, Saro. First of all, the color choices are perfect. The pose is perfect. That dog is perfect. Saro's outfit makes me green with envy and red with lust all at once. The hair and expression and the arm-weapon-thing...!!!!!! *yeah, the eyegasms are back*

Love me some Karin-butt-crack. *lol* And why is your Sasuke sexier than any other Sasuke EVER?!?!? *>.<*

I'm sure I could give a better review...I'm just wow'ed by the awesome, just as I'm jealous of and impressed by such skill! *>.<*

I don't even know where to look. I am captivated by the pretty! I really like your art style. Sakura's hips are ten kinds of hot. I love your smirk, and your pants are so bitchin'. I want them. [livejournal.com profile] sarolynne looks AMAZING, especially her hair. The above commenter was right; you draw ladies so AWESOMETASTICLY.

And gawd, Sasuke. *dead of sexy*

Amazing work. :)

[identity profile] ina-noranaya.livejournal.com 2007-06-07 03:19 am (UTC)(link)

I want to pet [livejournal.com profile] sarolynne's pretty hair. It looks luscious. Awesome costumes on everyone too, as usual. I like when you go nuts on clothing designs.

Hm.

*fightscenegeek!mode:Engaged!*

Ninja!Asuka: It's my understanding that tight ace-type wrappings like we see on Lee and Neji are used to bind and reinforce the limbs vs. linear shocks - ie, that they help hold the bones together and in the right alignment, so that they don't end up folding or going off of true and ending up under the wrong sort of stress and shattering. An old injury to the knee or a style that favors one leg over the other would account for mismatching the sides, with the bandages left exposed to ease tightening/rewrapping or just to fake the other guy out.

The arm-covers are pretty obviously meant to hide something yet still be easily removable for quick access - those look like snap-clasps to me, though it's hard to tell just from a sketch. They could be hiding some sort of daggers in quick-release holders (I'd favor a normal blade in a springloaded sheath over a 'wolverine-style' vanbrace weapon, but both would work), but tattooed seals like we saw Cockaroachimaru use for snake-summoning in the Forest of Death seem more likely - they look like they'd slide down like gloves, making a blade hard to get free without removing them completely. Why gloves rather than sleeves? I'm guessing either HotWeather factor or HotKunoichi factor, either of which I'm perfectly prepared to approve of. ^_^

Lastly, sword. Big frakkin' sword. Probably something like 20-30 pounds of sword. Heavy emphasis on cutting power, with a sizable side-order of crushing; the blade's weight distribution looks like it would put most of its mass out towards the tip, since those holes in the lower half look like they go all the way through rather than being a stuttered fuller. Likewise, its being so very broad would drive to the same conclusion - the narrower a sword's cross-section is at a given point, the less resistance. Sheer mass would keep it stiff, though - thrusts would still need to be watched for. very large increase in reach, probably more than enough to make her smaller starting reach insignificant.

Conclusions? Power fighter, probably at least capable with either ninjutsu or genjutsu, but most dangerous in melee on open ground. Just getting that blade moving in a timely fashion would take a lot of strength (which would be supported by the relatively high muscular definition) and a significant commitment in terms of balance; probably every move will be telegraphed but cover enough area to make it difficult to avoid anyway. Blocking or trying to deflect an attack is probably pointless for all but the strongest. She probably covers ground quickly, but by leaping rather than running - forests would be nasty, letting her go from tree to tree rather than in flat jumps.

Weak points - closed quarters, where there's not enough room to use the sword at a full swing, will deny her the ability to play to her strengths. Surviving damage probably won't be a strong point - simple lack of physical mass to absorb it with will force that - but her style of training will likely mitigate that, so not a glass-jaw type, either. An opponent forced to face her in the open would be advised to either stay well back or drive in very close, inside her reach. Depending on her skill with taijutsu or chakra techniques, either of these might still be a bad idea, but they're better than getting hacked in half.

Ninja!Saro: Honestly, there's much less I can think to say here beyond recommending to bone up on fighting Inuzuka in general. The only element that strikes me as being more distinctive that 'tall person = long reach' is the armored vanbrace; probably she leads with her right a lot more than her left.

*fsg!mode:Disengage*

And, is it just me, or must Sakura's shorts ride rather low indeed to end up at that point on her hips in that pose?

Not that I dissaprove, of course, but I wanted to make sure it's intentional. ^_^

*Next day* Much better! I iced my arm and it feels better, a little stiff and pressure hurts a leedle bit. but all in all, not so bad at all.

srsly, I felt like an Uchiha had set fire to my arm. ow.

[identity profile] alexandrukas.livejournal.com 2007-06-07 08:34 pm (UTC)(link)
Well you could seal the sword on your arm like oro had the summoning for his snakes.
*relurks*

[identity profile] valles-uf.livejournal.com 2007-06-07 09:28 pm (UTC)(link)
How long a weapon would take to deploy from a scroll would probably depend on the nature of the scroll; if it takes blood to activate, how long it is, where it's kept, etc. An ofuda-sized storage seal could be kept in a convenient pocket or sleeve and be ready in a split second; if Tenten's scrolls were typical of what's needed for -any- summoning, it'd take rather longer.

Far's I know, there were never any historical swords that looked anything like that. The closest you'd come would be European two-handed swords, which could be up to six feet from pommel to point, but no more than a couple inches from edge to edge, and - for battlefield examples rather than showpieces for ceremonies and such - rarely weighed more than about eight pounds or so. A buster-type blade of the same thickness would, I'd guess, be about four or five times that... but that's for a blade that's, what, a quarter of an inch thick? You can play a -lot- of tricks with cross-section to shave weight without compromising rigidity impossibly, but for something with practical strength properties I'd still figure on at -least- thirty to forty pounds. If they're as thick as they're usually drawn, multiply that by up to a factor of five.

I did most of my learning on the subject here (http://www.myarmoury.com/features.html), if you're interested in doing your own followup.

I don't think that Tsunade's strength technique is strictly limited to blows - though that's certainly its strongest point. The kind of pounding we've seen... all sorts of ninja take would have to require some kind of reinforcement to their bodies; human anatomy just isn't capable of leaving a crater in a tree and walking away. Even if that doesn't -directly- boost strength, it'd let them 'push' chakra through their hands a la the water-walking exercise at the same time that they used 'clinging' chakra from their feet to increase traction... Tsunade Powah would differ, I think, mostly in being -timed- so precisely.

Hope that helps!

I love the green. Seriously awesome. And if those shorts were any shorter they'd be underwear. That's hot.
