Sometimes I really feel like each picture I post over at DA should be prefaced with a handy little FAQ.

-"I haaate (this pairing you're drawing)."
--> Good for you. Sorry, I seem to be all fresh out of cookies.

-"No, really, (this pairing you're drawing)'s shippers eat babies."
--> Yes. They are very nutritious.

-"Whee! I love (this pairing you're drawing)!"
--> Well, it's good to know that I could draw utter shit and still rake up fangirl points, I guess. :D

-"Whee! (this pairing you're drawing) is the best! I hate (interfering bitch) / (competing pairing) too!"
--> Your mind-reading radar must need some recalibrating. You're looking for bash-happy "my way or the highway" "One Fanon to Rule Them All" twat, three galleries on the left.

-"I am stupid and knew that I was going to be offended by this pic, and yet I clicked anyway, and now I am offended! What are you going to do about it, huh? Huh?"
--> Laugh at you. A lot. And then shake my head and go write some underage furry boyporn.

-"HOMG YOU PERVERT/PEDO/SICKO/FURRY."
--> :D~ aww so cute. *pinches your cheeks* (guess which ones.)

Not that I dislike "i love (this ship you're drawing)" one-liners so much, but it's just so... "er, yeah? Me too? I mean, I'm drawing about it. But, uh. What about the pic?" Seriously, I'm not going to yell at people for daring to share my tastes, and when it's someone who regularly comments, it's fine, but what am I supposed to answer to that? u.u;;

*cuddles and pets*
Are you getting too many of those (^) lately? or has it just always been like that? S'what happens when you have a huge fanbase, Asuka love. =^=

[identity profile] zero-mercy.livejournal.com 2006-12-19 08:55 am (UTC)(link)
'cause it's a kiss, maybe? o___o... It IS a cute picture.

what did I say? *goes to find out...* >>;;;

[identity profile] bakkhos.livejournal.com 2006-12-19 09:19 am (UTC)(link)
To make up for it, I just posted your new ItaSasu time travel fic. ^^

[identity profile] bakkhos.livejournal.com 2006-12-19 09:25 am (UTC)(link)
Ahhh, you people!!! @__@ <-------Knows people who read the end of fics first.

I hope you like it anyway. <_<

[identity profile] piecrumbs.livejournal.com 2006-12-19 09:29 am (UTC)(link)
:/ *pets*
...hm. Post this onto dA, you might get rid of some idiots that way?

[identity profile] piecrumbs.livejournal.com 2006-12-19 09:48 am (UTC)(link)
...at least you tried? ~"~

[identity profile] elict.livejournal.com 2006-12-19 10:38 am (UTC)(link)
*rofl* Asuka-sama you are, and will always be, my idol. And a genius. Man, your way to deal with the masses... Win!

Yes. They are very nutritious. Did you read that book/text by Jonathan Swift? I don't know what it's called in english, but he's proposing that because of the overpopulation in Ireland, the Irish women should sell theit babies as food for the richer part of the population. It's a sarcastic text, but genius non the less.

Just like you. :D~ aww so cute. *pinches your cheeks* (guess which ones.) Oh god... XD

[identity profile] elict.livejournal.com 2006-12-19 11:34 am (UTC)(link)
I only have it in Swedish ;___; But you should defenitely try and find it anyways.

[identity profile] meritjubet.livejournal.com 2006-12-19 02:51 pm (UTC)(link)
I generally try and say something I like about a picture. Since I'm not really an artist, can't offer much criticism.

Usually, I just type 'Thanks' or forget since the comment is so short and doesn't actually say much.

It's called "A Modest Proposal".

*quiet, conspiratorial manner*
But...but...furryporn can be so good. When it's drawn well. Without improbably huge breasts or penises. Which rules out about 90% of furryporn, if not more.

[identity profile] flyby.livejournal.com 2006-12-19 06:59 pm (UTC)(link)
"I don't like this pairing" comments baffle me, because why the hell did they click the thumbnail? Or read the fic, because I've seen that happen. o.O I mean, saying something like "this isn't my favourite pairing but the art is wonderful" is one thing, but why bother to look at/read something you're only going to have a negative reaction to? *bewails the death of logic*

[identity profile] nothri.livejournal.com 2006-12-19 08:05 pm (UTC)(link)
"I've drawn a lot worse than that on DA. Hell, even my sexy no jutsu narusasu picture didn't draw as many idiots in such a short time. T_T"

Hey kids! Its captain double standard here with another exciting message! Did you know that two women making out is hot? Its true! Just remember, kids, two guys making out is gay!

Righto! I'm out! Up, up and away!

[identity profile] rurounitriv.livejournal.com 2006-12-19 10:18 pm (UTC)(link)
*starts to apologize for one-liners* *realizes that her one-liners are generally about the pic and stops* *realizes that someone else mentioned the reason that the sexy-no-jutsu pic didn't get as many idjits commenting was because it was two girls getting it on*

*abuses astericks just because she can*

[identity profile] complexphoenix.livejournal.com 2006-12-20 12:11 am (UTC)(link)
What did the asterisks ever do to you!?

Remember children: 'a closed mouth gathers no foot' -_-

[identity profile] slamu.livejournal.com 2006-12-20 12:50 am (UTC)(link)
Asuka Kureru,

Your DeviantArt dumbass filter for user "askerian" is expiring in o days, at which time it'll revert to its previous status.

...

Man, that sucks. Didn't you get the memo?
I ignored one of those once, and it was horrible! (Lies, never got the memo and enjoyed mocking them in suitably subtle ways)
Still, probably the only reason that this doesn't apply to me is that, knowing that my appreciation for art falls far short of anything but "ooohhh! Shiny!", so I rarely comment beyond something like "drool stains are making it difficult for this user to comment successfully".

Still, I'd take not-fresh cookies if you have them.

[identity profile] teruame.livejournal.com 2006-12-20 01:51 am (UTC)(link)
On one hand, I'm more than happy to share a little fanart with my friends, just in case they had suggestions on improvements, but at the same time...I just...can't stand having SasuSaku/Sakura-bashing comments staining my lovely work. T_T I just can't do that to my art. It would be too cruel.

-recovers from weep session- The following comment would qualify as a finalist for the National "Nightmare fanmail from DeviantArt" Contest. From what I know, it seems that this is the comment that often brings the fanartist the most trouble.

"Whee! (this pairing you're drawing) is the best! I hate (interfering bitch) / (competing pairing) too!"

[identity profile] rurounitriv.livejournal.com 2006-12-20 02:40 am (UTC)(link)
Wahhhhh!!!!! They killed my ellipses! ;___;

[identity profile] meritjubet.livejournal.com 2006-12-20 06:39 am (UTC)(link)
Yes ^___^

I agree that being on LJ is different as you're often among friends, who share the same thoughts (or obsessions).

Maybe because DA is getting so big there are people there who aren't for the art, purely, but for more social purposes or merely to keep a record of all their favourite pictures. *shrugs* I don't go to DA much so I'm probably wrong.

Everyone has different interpretations of language (as I am, much to my internal quailing learning in historiography) maybe they meant that they liked how you made the characters sexy? But then again, that doesn't really sound much better...

Now, did that make sense? :)

[identity profile] kat-chan.livejournal.com 2006-12-20 08:08 am (UTC)(link)
You should see some of the stuff I've seen. Truly frightening. Makes me shudder just to recall them. *shudders*

[identity profile] rurounitriv.livejournal.com 2006-12-20 08:39 am (UTC)(link)
*cuddles!* Thought that would amuse you. ;)

[identity profile] teruame.livejournal.com 2006-12-21 10:52 pm (UTC)(link)
It's always so irritating and obnoxious and offending to have someone assume that because you draw X it means you hate Y and it means you're on their side of a stupid war that shouldn't even exist.

Especially when THEY were the ones who started that war. The person who made that comment was probably trying to recruit you into their cause, since they would be so happy to turn you into their minion.

Just show art on your LJ? it's pretty easy to make sure it only reaches the intended target then. ^_^

-adds this idea into the counterattack plan against the approaching DA dimwit commenting army-
