-... So thought it was Itachi for a second. I mean -- flock of crows? But no, alas. Yay for seeing more summon beasties, though.

-Since when does Ino know medical jutsu? I hope Shika just meant basic jutsu... Because one person knowing basic medical jutsu per team = good, but girl = medic-nin =/= happy asuka. So hm.

And the one thought that really needs to be set apart:

All in one, I was actually *gasp* entertained by this chapter. Tense action and powerful emotions = always better than boring training devoid of all meaningful character interaction. u.u Naruto, Kakashi, Yamato, this means you.

The text (the japanese one) indicates that it's something like a basic justsu, yes. Since Shikamaru puts it as "revive Asuma a bit", sorta. I'm guessing it's something like CPR, which is a rather basic but very effective way of saving someone's life in many situations.

Pretty entertaining chapter all in all, yeah :D

Hee, well if it's basic then that's good. I'mma gonna assume they all know something of that; it's just that Chouji needs to carry Asuma and he can't do both. XD Yeah, I like this interpretation better.

I don't know what happened to your tags. :\ Did you change any customizations on your journal recently and uncheck using the stylesheet?

OH NO. But, uh, while you're having issues with the tags, I feel like it might be a good time to let you know that I actually have a way to group the tags with the currents (music, mood, location), so it doesn't do the goofy thing where the tags are separated from the entry and the mood is separated from them.

LJ had a minor freak out last night, or at least that's the only reason I can think of for one (and only one) of my custom layouts disappearing.

And it would have to be my most customized layout. :P Thankfully when I tweaked it I did a full style sheet and only had to link that back in and make a couple changes to the wizard.

Did you see what biju they were extracting? The text of my translation was messed up. It basically said "We're extracting the akdsjhadkjhd(tails).

Three-tails, I think. *^^* That's the shark-turtle thing Tobi and Deidara just brought back, yeah? Not sure.

The one who called the crows was, uh, whatshisname again, Aoba? The one who spilled the beats to Sasuke about Itachi being back in town. XD

My biggest problem with this chapter was that, as soon as the Konoha-backup showed up my brain shorted out and went:

OHMYFUCKINGGAAAAAAWD! It's SHINOBI ROBIN! BATMAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAN!!!!111eleventy. And there ended my capacity to take it seriously. XD

On the other hand: Shikamaru's angsty face? So much love.

Or maybe she's got that genetic abnormality that makes a person seem like a girl until they hit puberty, and then they sprout a penis and it turns out they're a boy.

That's it. Kishimoto is DEFINITIVELY not telling us something. ~~Though I appreciate him not ellaborating on certain topics like... say... making out with Orochimaru? Tongue much? O_o~~

The translation I got indicated she's only supposed to help stabilise him till they get to hospital, so it sounds pretty basic. Possibly a lesson offered to all chuunin? Or she could have tried her hand at medical jutsus once she heard Sakura was studying them, and only got that far.

x____x well, that's good then. I like this interpretation. ^___^ Kind of tempted to drabble for it, even. *ponders*

two possibilities for the medical jutsus. One: Having a leading medical ninja (known for her belief in sticking each outgoing group with a mednin) as Hokage means that all Konoha ninja are expected to know basic medical jutsu, because the Hokage thinks it's important.
Two Shikamaru didn't mean for Ino to perform the jutsu at all. He told her to accompany Chouji to the hospital, smart move to send a two 'man'team with the wounded, the people who would then perform the jutsu would be the medical staff. Kishi was just being ambiguious, because the whole med nin thing, is totally Sakura's ground.
Leaning more towards the first idea though.

Argh. If anyone needs to be the heal bag for InoShikaChou, its Chouji! All that freaky body stretchy stuff combined with their knowledge of powerful herbs and such? Right up a medical ninja's alley. Or something.

So is it just me or does pretty much every team now have at least one Akatsuki that wants to pound em. Everybody except Hinata, Kiba, and Shino....and we haven't seen the last two Akatsuki. Coincidence?

Also- is that guy riding a giant wooden mecha?
