So I didn't get lots of things at the con, but I did get posters. Three posters of the Uchiha brothers. *__* i've only scanned two so far because it's annoying as hell, they don't fit in the scanner so I have to stick the pieces back together and my mouse is being a bitch. =__=; i'll do the third one later.

well, the warrior-types were starting to get very suspicious before the massacre, but before that, he DID get to be an ANBU captain at a very young age. Not sure it means his leadership/social skills would have been good enough for normal people, but for elite black ops guys, maybe. XD and then we had the uncles and stuff who were just too proud to see any farther...

And he acted in a very professional manner when we first meet him. He puts the mission of capturing Naruto first and tries to avoid unnecessary fights. He pulls Kisame back into line when he starts getting carried away. He stays calm, collected and calculating no matter what. I saw that and it immediately made sense how he got to be a chuunin and then an ANBU captain so early. Except for his disloyalty and lack of even a smidgen of morality, he's everything a ninja is supposed to be.

... ahahaha. Oh boy. Hit my tags and go through the "fanmail" one and you'll get an idea. Usually I rant about the idiocy in public as a way to let out some steam -- also to get some more input on the ways in which the flame is so monumentally stupid, besides the ones I could find. Then I formulate an answer based on the level of language of the flamer. ...Though it depends if it's obviously a ploy for attention that's totally pulled out of the flamer's ass or not; if it is, I don't bother answering.

Huh. Actually I've read your LJ since then and while I'm not sure about the tone and level of language applied to the "review", I do agree with its basic point; IE don't post a story when you know there are basic grammar and spelling flaws in it, unless you're unable to find a beta to help you and truly don't have the skills to do it yourself. Not everyone has a grammar-and-spelling sense, and it's true that the author might miss some errors that would be clearly noticeable by another reader, so you can't be faulted for that, but laziness is not an excuse that makes me want to respect someone as a writer.

If the language was condescending or insulting, then I'd say feel free to slam them for that, but if you, yourself, admit to being too lazy to proofread, then I really don't think their comment was entirely baseless. When you post in public, you open yourself to criticism. Either it's true or it's not; if it's not, fuck them, but if it's true, you can't complain. You can choose to ignore them because you don't CARE about the thing they're pointing out, but you can't complain, because whether you like it or not, they're RIGHT. It's posted in public, and not everyone who reviews will rave about how wonderful everything was.

You don't HAVE to care about spelling and grammar. But on the internet, what you are is what you write, nothing more, nothing less. And I know lots of people who will give an otherwise decent story a miss because the sloppiness is making them cringe; they -- we -- think, "why should we care about your story when obviously you don't care about it yourself?"

I'm still interested in seeing the review; I'd like to see if the viciousness of it was truly uncalled for. But hey, personally, I love it when my reviewers point out a spelling or grammar error. oooh, I'd love a Gaara at Camp. ;__; (first one kind of sucked donkey balls. Like, really. wouln't hard to be better.) Maybe you could look at Itachi ? he's fairly quiet and yet his mun manages to drag him out fairly often. ^___^
