rarr.

Okay. several lovely friends from the GW fandom?

I love you. I really do.

Don't make me block you to make sure I don't hear about your newest wank fest any more than what I already skim over in my friendslist.

I. DON'T. CARE.

Talk about it in your LJs, fine; it's your LJ and I can and will skip it, no harm done. But don't make me read it. Don't link me to anything related to it. Don't unload everything the other side has done wrong on me. Don't expect me to officially take your side either.

I'm not going to. Because I don't give a shit. And the only thing this whole mess is making it feel, is the desire to delete every single GW fic I have and pretend that I was never, ever involved in that fandom. Once again, I. DON'T. CARE.

Thank you, good night.

For one brief moment there, I thought "Isn't the GW series over? How can there be fresh wank over a dead series?"

It's nice to know that I still have a tiny spec of innocence, even if the rest of my mind quickly corrects it.

My first thought was "But how could you be mad over Sera-chan's nostalgic rambly post?" Then I realize oh wait, this is a reference to a wank I dun see and dun care about. ^^; Lucky me?

Wank? In...GW? *tries very hard not to laugh* Now that I've been touched mauled by fandom, I guess I shouldn't be so surprised at people's ingenuity to come up with new wank for a series OVER A DECADE OLD PEOPLE.

I mean, cripes. Doesn't that say it all right there? "It's been TEN YEARS, there is NOTHING you can ARGUE about that is NOT already DONE TO DEATH." Honestly.

I'd say we should start wank ourselves--good wank--but I just can't find reason to bother.

Honestly, I think everything was wanked-out by about the second or third year, it's just the new people that come in every year and feel the need to say their shitpiece, no matter what's been said before because THEY DIDN'T GET TO INSERT THEIR TWO CENTS OMGWTFIHAVEANOPINIONLISTEN! >_> *ahem* I love the fandom, but I do not like the fans. The fans are very different from their fandom.

*hugs Asuka* I'm sorry people are asshats. Especially now, when you need it least.

...

I suppose this means I should probably reconsier my decision to check out the GW fandom? (I recently got the game, and after playing it a bit, I decided that I'd go see if I could get the anime. 'Tis fun.)

GW fandom wouldn't be its usual glowing self if there wasn't a war at least once a year. I'm in hiding from the whole business. Come have tea and biscuits and we'll talk of more pleasant things.

... I didn't mean to ramble. .___.;; It just happened.

._______.

You could've told me if I was bothering you.

[identity profile] cerusee.livejournal.com 2006-04-19 09:04 pm (UTC)(link)
I had that thought, too.

*pets* I don't think she meant you?

[identity profile] a-white-rain.livejournal.com 2006-04-19 09:36 pm (UTC)(link)
It's like ten years old, I think.

I adore the series, but the fandom is scary.

[identity profile] windandwater.livejournal.com 2006-04-19 10:08 pm (UTC)(link)
But I was poking at her last night on AIM. ;____;

Remember, love is poking.

Heh. So glad that my GW involvement was mostly confined to GWA - even now there's a limit to how much wankage Tyr allows there, even if she can't quite keep the stupid out.

I understand completely, the most I read of the GW fandom anymore is updates from Author's I know, have read, and still like. Talking to the fans of the fandom just gets annoying after awhile.
I don't understand why they must fight over who's on top, nor do I understand why they seem to have lost any appreciation they had for real story.

SO sad.
I hope you feel better

I don't get the whole meaning behind the word "wank" but I'm guessing it means conflict or something.

My de-lurking point is that I still read your GW stuff every once in a while and I try not to be a pain in the bupkis; I hope you ignore the wanker festers and gimme a chance to keep reading it.

Being selfrighteously pugnacious or entitlement-whore whiny on a given topic is a form of emotional masturbation. As "to wank" is British English slang for "to masturbate by stimulating the penis," it has been applied to the aforementioned pugnacious/whiny behavior by online culture. ^_^

[identity profile] muffiewrites.livejournal.com 2006-04-24 04:00 am (UTC)(link)
Ahhh. Got the slang part, but the specific meaning here eluded me. Thanks for the clear up.

(Sorry to clog your journal, A)

**smiles happily** I am so glad that I'm completely oblivious to wankage. I just don't notice it, and then someone will randomly rant at me about it, only to realize after a while that I really DON'T know what they're talking about, and they'll lose interest.

**Thumb of Fervent Encouragement**

Oblivious, it's the only way to be.

I still follow GW fanfics, and would be sorry to see your work disappear. Please keep it available. Thank you for work that keeps me reading.

I'm sorry about your dog.
