*snerk*

XD ahaha, I love fandom. The only place in the world where you can refer to someone you don't know as "she" by default, and in 95% of the time, you'll be right.

In other words, what does that makes, the fourth, fifth guy to comment on my LJ? heee. XD There was [livejournal.com profile] stephensstuff, and [livejournal.com profile] hitori_toshiro and [livejournal.com profile] valles_uf and [livejournal.com profile] rahedion_woif... anyone I'm forgetting? XD

"But i'm using a boy's name!!" Yeah, like [livejournal.com profile] finnigan_geist and [livejournal.com profile] gabriel_chaos XD.

(wait, [livejournal.com profile] cindelius, you're a girl, right? I CAN'T TELL. STOP MAKING ME DOUBT, PEOPLE.)

In other news, I will never be able to take Uchiha Fugaku seriously again.

Son of edit: I have a new cousin! Welcome, Noémie. ♥

I'm a girl. =D

Except on Gaia, where I'm a boy.

I CAN'T TELL. STOP MAKING ME DOUBT, PEOPLE.

Pffft. What fun would it be if you were omniscient? :op Yes, I'm a girl. I also find it interesting that you're not the first to have doubts on this issue. My gender vibes must be all over the place online. *facepalms*

This comic helped to make my night, so thanks for sharing!

God, I wish I could remember where that came from, because I'm pretty sure that site had some other hilarious pictures like it. XD Mocking Fugaku = everyone's favorite hobby! Even easier than mocking Sasuke! AND THAT'S EASY. like Sasuke.

[identity profile] muffytaj.livejournal.com 2006-04-13 08:40 am (UTC)(link)
I've been told I'm a boy lots of times. Before I started adding "muffy" to my name though :p Since then, no one's called me a boy. *grins*

[identity profile] muffytaj.livejournal.com 2006-04-13 09:00 am (UTC)(link)
That and because of my aggressive nature... ;.; because, y'know, girls are sugar and spice and all things nice, not guns and violence and swearing :p

The one time I referred to someone I didn't know as 'she', it turned out to be a guy. XD

[identity profile] dragynville.livejournal.com 2006-04-14 11:58 am (UTC)(link)
It turned out well in my case. He was quite amused and we became good LJ friends. :D

^^ That's funny, becuase the first time I read one of your stories (I think it was a Team Seven one, 'Waiting') I was sure that you were a guy. :3

Moment of perfect honesty:

The first time I became aware of your existence, it was via your illustrations on Mel and Christy's 2x5 site, and because the Asuka character in their self-insertion epic thingy is male, I thought you were male too. I was rather confused when all other evidence began to point toward female!

[identity profile] finnigan-geist.livejournal.com 2006-04-13 09:18 pm (UTC)(link)
Congratulations on the new cousin!

And ahahahahaha, my screenname confuses people. >:D I would say I'm sorry about that, but it sort of was my original intention to be gender-neutral when picking the moniker, which really does translate to "confuse the hell out of people." Not that it would for long, because I'm waaaay too fangirly to be a boy.

Generally, I assume everyone on the internet is a girl until proven otherwise. So far, I haven't made the mistake of referring to a guy as "she," but it'll doubtless happen someday. And then I'll feel like a tool.

French has the prettiest names. ;_; Except I have major problems reading them on occassion. I don't think it helped that right after I learned very brief pronunciation basics back in seventh grade, I read a historical novel that took place in France and included a guide on how to pronounce old French. To this day, double Ls baffle me. <.<

I like Japanese names, too, though. I'm going to Japanese language immersion camp this summer, and I got to pick out my name. Matsuko! :D:D Pine tree child... Er. /babble

The gender confusion reminds me of a book I have that I just know you'd enjoy. It's called Self-Made Man by Norah Vincent, and it's about this lesbian journalist who wanted to do a piece on the different ways the sexes are received. So she cross dressed for over nine months as a very convincing guy, doing everything from joining a bowling club to getting a job to going to a strip club to living in a monastary for a few weeks.

And lastly, English is a pain. What kind of a language doesn't have a gender neutral pronoun? 'It' so does not count. At least in Japanese you can skip the confusion altogether... :/

that picture is too funny XD
