*hate* I give up.

Fuck you, affnet. Fuck you hard and deep. With a chair. Sideway.

Anyone knows of a good public archive that accepts NC-17 rated fics and has decent traffic? Not mm.org, I'm already there and frankly it's hardly worth it anymore, that site gets me maybe two reviews a chapter at most. u.u;

What's the problem with affnet?

Hey, thanks for the pimp! I wasn't sure anyone was still reading over there!

Unfortunately Asuka is too popular for the spirit of Project Greenlight. Asuka, that's what you get for writing too well. No archive and no love. :( (What is the problem with AFF.net? I haven't tried to upload anything since the new server?)

Oh god it IS being a bitch! Thanks for the heads up!

(And hey... visit Project Greenlight anytime, my dear! ^__^)

[identity profile] sintari.livejournal.com 2006-04-12 04:27 pm (UTC)(link)
*hugs* I think I'm just not going to deal with AFF anymore. I know this isn't what you need to hear but... if you find a good NC-17 archive, pimp away so that we can all follow you. Sorry you're having a bad day, babe!

[identity profile] complexphoenix.livejournal.com 2006-04-12 06:08 pm (UTC)(link)
I completely agree about the new look. Gray? WTF? The old fleshcolored background was mush warmer, way better suited to sexy fic.

www.skyehawke.com

It's very light on the animanga side, but I have gotten some decent feedback out of it.

There's also Jumpy Boys, which would suit some of your needs. http://www.txq.nu/jumpyboys/

Ooh...

[identity profile] silrayn.livejournal.com 2006-04-12 08:24 pm (UTC)(link)
Hello, Skyehawke is good but not as popular as some archives. Want me to send you an invite (they have an author approval system though I know you probably don't need it since I know you'll pass without any problems)? I can do it if you give me an email addy and the pen name you want, my yahoo email is kijarel. ^^

[identity profile] trowacko.livejournal.com 2006-04-12 04:41 pm (UTC)(link)
if you find one, pimp it my way. i've been looking for a new place to post myself. even more love it's multifandom cuz there is too much shiny in the world XD

(affnet has been making me writhe lately, too. i seem to only catch it when they won't allow updates and i've been wanting to post fic. dammit *grr*)

[identity profile] ponderosa121.livejournal.com 2006-04-12 04:43 pm (UTC)(link)
I pimp to both of you at once.

www.ficwad.com

The traffic isn't spectacular, but the reviews are above-par when they do come in, and the mods are prompt and friendly in terms of adding new categories. It's got a nice rating/reviewing system too that encourages better feedback.

[identity profile] trowacko.livejournal.com 2006-04-12 04:48 pm (UTC)(link)
there it is! i've been racking my brain for that url since you gave it to me *hangs head* damn goldfish *boots it* thank you, pondy!

[identity profile] maldoror-gw.livejournal.com 2006-04-12 11:33 pm (UTC)(link)
though it's chock-full of you-fics and blatant Sues

*glances over* *shudders*

Word. And word. And word cubed...Here I thought AFF.net was a pile of dreg with a few gems...

AFF.net are actually 'in transition', building up independent servers for the busier fandoms. They'll get to Naruto...probably somewhere around 2010, at this rate. And the whole site is damn slow to boot. Sigh, I was sort of looking for a new archive too, but sites with that many Sues and inserts give me hives. But sites that tend to comb through their fics a bit more carefully...tend to not get as many reviewers, for some reason.

I'll stick to LJ for now, I think. The quality of the reviews there tend to be top-notch, compared to the 'WAII UPDATE!!1!' of ff.net and other pits. If you do find a nice place to post, spread the word, I'll do likewise.

[identity profile] maldoror-gw.livejournal.com 2006-04-15 07:38 pm (UTC)(link)
FYI: I just checked out ficwad. I don't know if the system they set up works, but if it does, it's kick-ass. People are essentially rewarded for the quality of the reviews they leave (as in helpful or not, in theory), and they can give adjectives that qualify the fic, like FUnny, or Mary-Sue, and such. Now, the system might be full of holes, but if it works, it could really be cool and help tighten both stories posted and reviews. I signed up and started putting up DR there, just to see.

I'd suggest my archive(http://haven.ivygardens.net), but I don't get that much traffic yet... though I'm sure it would generate quite a bit if you started posting there.. ;P *needs to start advertising it more*

[identity profile] ivyadrena.livejournal.com 2006-04-12 09:36 pm (UTC)(link)
Yay!

If you know anyone else that's having issues with those other archive sites, I wouldn't mind some pimping... ^_~
I add categories on demand, so no worries on that end of things.

Hope you find a good site~

slashfanfiction.com is a good one, but primarily slash-focused and also probably not that popular.

[identity profile] rayemars.livejournal.com 2006-04-13 01:28 am (UTC)(link)
I'm pretty sure that there's a statement allowing het, but I don't remember if it's on the condition that it's not the focus pairing (I do know there's supposed to be a warning, though). So, yeah; probably not a good house for Teamwork, but the Cybersuke story would bring the quality up. *grin*

[identity profile] mikkeneko.livejournal.com 2006-04-12 07:18 pm (UTC)(link)
Well, I do hear that there's someone showing interest in updating the Naruto half of Scimitar...

[identity profile] windandwater.livejournal.com 2006-04-12 07:42 pm (UTC)(link)
Skyhawke and Ficwad are all I can come up with, unless you want very specific fandoms. One reason why I started my own archive on LJ. Very easy.

I have an account over on WWOMB (http://www.squidge.org/~peja/cgi-bin/index.php). There isn't a lot of traffic, but you can post anything - and I do mean anything - and the server almost never craps out. It is public, and does allow reviews, and it's pretty easy to archive.

[identity profile] valles-uf.livejournal.com 2006-04-12 09:30 pm (UTC)(link)
I reccommend The Lost Library of Florestica (http://www.florestica.com/). I can't comment on how easy it is to post on or anything, but you'd definitely be in good company.

http://www.skyehawke.com/ has decent traffic but tends to be sucky with the reviews. Invite only, though I don't think you'd have any problems, you'd just need to post on their forum with a link to your work.

I know you said that you weren't interested in invite only, but at least you have the information...

@.@; Taking info from Painless J's post here
http://www.skyehawke.com/archive/
Skyehawke:
- invite-only.
- no chan or non-con allowed.
- automated archive.
- multifandom.
- no rating limitations.
- stable enough, although they did change TOS to fit new Australian laws (and that caused a sort of writer Exodus) and it did collapse several times, but the point is, it's still here.

http://www.the-archive.net/
The Archive at the End of the Universe
- invite-only.
- no rating or content limitations.
- automated archive.
- multifandom.
- rather new but promises to be stable. This seems to be a good place to archive *everything* of yours if you have an account here.

Sadly the other places I can think of are either HP orientated; or non-existant very small with the Naruto section...

Also. Avoid animespiral like the plague... @.@; That site has so many problems, all of the authors that I know used to post on it, have all quit, because they were that fed up with the place.

For yaoi stuff, http://yaoi.y-gallery.net/ is pretty decent; but I don't think they'll take kindly to bi-sexual threesomes... I could be wrong though. I don't use it that often. *shrugs*

http://www.deviantart.com/ accepts nc-17 stuff, but recently they've been a little "strange" with mature restrictions. ~.~; Apparently they've been developing their own little fanbrat squad that likes to do the witch hunts. And the uploading thing can be a hassle.

Maybe pimping on a couple of LJ places?

[identity profile] sabriel-sylfaen.livejournal.com 2006-04-13 12:31 pm (UTC)(link)
With a chair and SIDEWAYS yet. o.o Wow. Somebody has incurred the wrath of the Asuka in a big way. *nuzzles* I still wuv you.

Dunno of many public archives to begin with, and AFF, FF.NET, and MM are about the extent of my knowledge. There's a couple of smaller slash archives floating around, but they get even less traffic than MediaMiner.
