Bah, I'd be surprised. Sasuke needs to be Redeemed, and with the shounen genre's staples, that probably includes Sakura loving him back into a ~~normal, well-adjusted~~ semi-tolerable being. besides if Naruto "stole Sasuke's girl" it would be all that much harder to mend the rift between Sasuke and them.

Though frankly, I'd rather see none of them hook up at all, but canon will probably disagree. Oh well. No one can convince me that my OT3 can never work at all. :p

Hee, it's okay. I'm careful about the spoilery myself. I just have this bad idea to do another Naruto and Yu Yu Hakusho crossover (I have this bad habit to want to cross everything with Yu Yu Hakusho! Fusion crosses at that.). ^^

^^;;; Kinda not interested in YYH that much anymore. Though I guess Naruto would be easy to fusion with it, if you decide that the Naruto world is a layer of the Makai. But it really depends what sort of fusion you mean.

It's a character fusion and making the Naruto world the Ningenkai and just maybe transplant some of the characters later but at the moment the events and things are from Naruto but for one character being fused with another character. ^^

if it's Kyuubi or Kurama -- kurama is canonically a four-or-five tails ;p and if it's any other character... this kind of fusion is very difficult to write well, so. good luck?

Ah yes, but you were, are Hokage, and a Ninja. You have to look out for the good of the many and put them over yourself, and the few. And it would be a good thing for the village to have the Uchihas back. And being ruthless and unfair is part of being a ninja. So therefore you should get to having sex with some fertile Konoha female.

While the Uchihas I knew were good, strong people -- breeding more of them as if they were mere commodities, easy to replace, is something I will not stand for. Konoha is supposed to be a haven from this sort of thinking, the sort that led to Bloodline clans being hunted down as monsters and war machines in other countries.

It has been a good number of years now since the Uchihas fell, and as you see Konoha is still standing. While the dead will be missed, no individual or small group will ever be enough of a loss to provoke the fall of Konoha.

And yet, Shinobi are tools. But then these yet to be born individuals are not yet Shinobi, so you view you have no right to use them as tools. That's remarkable enlightened of you. But the Hyuga branch house marking seems in imply that under certain circumstances, like having an incredible bloodline limit, nonshinobi children can be treated as replaceable tools. Does this make you a hypocrite?

Certainly not enough to provoke a fall, no. Dreadfully useful to have around to, I don't know, steal the jutsus enemies are using against your country, so counter measures can more easily be made.

I mean no ill by calling you a hypocrite, it's an actual question I'd like answered, how can hokages be so nice, and good libral so far as hidden villages go, and concerned for the individual, and still allow the seals on the heads of children in the Hyuuga branch house? Espically when it seems like a birthday present for a mainhouse member?

I'd also like to make it known that for the protection of the village and the Hyuuga I'm actually pro-sealing-mark-jutsu, and it should be on every active Hyuuga shinobi (which I get the impression it is). What I DON'T like about it is the ability of the Main house to control life and death and the curse seal and using it to control the branch house. It's despicable. The actual function to protect the Byakugan and Konoha is not.

Somethign that just occured to me and I have to get out before it breaks my brain with escape attempts: Uchiha made up most of the Konoha police force, a domestic agent, meaning it was primarilly used in the village. There's been no mention of a protective seal for the bloodline limit either. Is it possible that due to not having this protection keeping other countries from getting the eyes that many Uchiha shinobi were limited to the village?

1) The Hokage is not the absolute dictator of Konoha, as we have seen with Tsunade and the way the councillors nag her and work to control, counteract and influence her decisions. The Hokage is its figurehead and its war leader -- but there are councillors, and there are heads of clans, and you better believe that if a brand-new Hokage arrived and went all "okay, so these are my personal opinions and by choosing me, you gave me the full right to change your personal customs and traditions as I see fit, despite knowing jack shit about when and why they came into existance" that the Hyuugas and probably the Uchihas and several other clans, would pack up and leave for another country. Or possibly have him assassinated.

Seriously, do you know anyone who would let their town mayor tell them how they're allowed to raise their children? "I think any form of physical punishment is abusive, so you're never ever alowed to spank your brats". Uh huh. Sure, some practices seem borderline, or even fully abusive to us -- but they're a ninja village, full of very old and rather violent traditions. They're NOT new-age and enlightened.

1a) Arashi died very young. He couldn't have been Hokage more than a couple of years. Do you think he could have abolished generations-old practices just by saying that he didn't like them and snapping his fingers?

1b) the Shinobi = tools thing is very shaky itself, particularly looking at the Yondaime. It's a big split in the show. Zabuza said that ninja were tools, and other characters--good and bad--have agreed. But it's not an attitude that everyone ascribes to. Sandaime was all about the "protecting something you actually care about" side of things, and seeing how Yondy did the same, I'd rather believe he was one of the "I fight so that others don't have to" school of thought, rather than one of the "we are only instruments made to kill people to get more power and money".

2) Uchiha made up most of the Konoha police force, a domestic agent, meaning it was primarilly used in the village.

Most of the police force was comprised of Uchihas, but nothing said how much of the Uchihas went into the police force. Children were routinely put on normal Genin teams, which leave the village on a regular basis -- wouldn't it be easier to kidnap a child than an adult, if all you want is the sharingan? (Also, Itachi was ANBU. certainly not village-bound; I have a hard time believing he was the only one.) If others stayed in the village, it was possibly a personal choice and nothing else.

There's been no mention of a protective seal for the bloodline limit either.

All other bloodline limits that we have seen didn't have a protective seal either, and that is, more probably than not, because the seal is purely a Hyuuga thing. Besides it's rather possible that when the two branches split, the newly formed Uchihas didn't want to have anything to do with something like that. They seemed to be a lot less formal and hierarchized than the Hyuuga. Heck, they're positively middle-class suburban in the way they relate to each other and outsiders, compared to the Hyuuga's ZOMGnobility.

Sure, the Uchihas had traditions too, and they had something of a superiority complex that led them not to mix much with the rest of the village. But the worst Itachi ever got was lectures from dad and family-type pressures to go into this or that field. Somehow, compared to curse seals and heir shuffling and turning over the dead twin brother for the good of the clan, the Uchihas are almost hippies.

Also... The Uchihas didn't kill Kakashi for taking Obito's eye, and yet he was the son of someone that everyone saw as a traitor. We don't know how much they bitched behind the scenes, but if they were as controlling as the Hyuuga, even the involvement of the Fourth wouldn't have done jack-shit to save Kakashi's ass.

2b) The seal might be advertised as a way to protect the bloodline, but in reality it's used much more often as a tool of power, so really, being pro-seal would probably get Yondy to see you as buying into the propaganda. :p

Conclusion... that theory is ...possible, I guess, but not very likely.

On 1): Then Naruto is going to have a rude awakening when he becomes Hokage, don't you think? And well, that's what the goverment does.

2) Wow, must be a huge clan to make up the ploice force for a village-that's-virtually-a-city, AND have feild agents. I'd say Itachi is the exception rather than the rule. And...Well when a Uchiha doesn't have their Sharingan activated (and isn't sporting the drooling pokeball) they look like normal people, which is protection. (and oh gawd my brain went Zoofic!crack with camoflage in juvinalies of the serries)

Also, no gurantee that they'd activate the sharingan.

2b) Yes, it's used as a tool of power and that sucks, but it protects the bloodline when a Branch Hyuuga dies--it keeps anyone from stealing the eyes before the Hunter-nin can get there and destroy the body. So I guess it's more accurete to say I'm pro-seal-if-it-couldn't-be-abused-like-that.

This is why I like talking/debating with you--oddly enough I don't have many people who can shoot down my ideas in a logical well thought out way. Well they can. (my friends aren't ALL stupid, or totally ODed on my crack). They just don't because they think that way too a majority of the time. So I don't have as much practice as I'd like making strong arguments the first time around.

2) discussion on the police in Konoha. We eventually agreed that the police in Konoha might not be all that big, because people who all own pointy things tend to be polite to each other by default, but they would HAVE to be kickass enough to bring down even misbehaving jounin. Besides, ninjas probably police themselves quite a bit. So no, the clan didn't need to be that huge. (also, we have no idea of the real size of Konoha; and if we knew I would have to check on the normal ratio of civilian/cop for a normal city, but even so...)

When they don't have their sharingan activated... they still wear their hugeass fan symbol on their back. Unless they're incognito on a specific mission, maybe, but not as traveling genins. XP Besides, they're ninjas, they gather information for a living -- if the enemy wants to grab himself a well-bred uchiha, he'll target him beforehand, stalk him a bit, and THEN kidnap him. The black eyes thing is really not a difficult thing to get around.

2b) All I can say about the seal is that the Uchiha never went that crazy about hiding their secrets, and apart from Itachi, they didn't seem to have so many problems. If everyone wore the seal and there was no element of control, that would be different -- but as it is, it's only used to mark some of the Hyuugas as lesser beings. It doesn't matter much what it could be, when it's misused so badly. :p But then that's more of a matter of opinion.
