How to Tell That You Spend Too Much Time in Foreign Fandoms:

French girl: "So, are you french or english? I think english because when you write in french some of your turns of phrase look english."

... *cough* #U____U#;;;;; Hi, rock bottom!

I can't even write in my mother tongue anymore.

edit: [livejournal.com profile] muffytaj strikes again. This time with two HP/Naruto crossover ficlets. i so didn't enable her. LIES. mmm, crack. XD

[identity profile] bemysty.livejournal.com 2006-02-06 05:01 pm (UTC)(link)
Yeah, well, dito for me. >_>

[identity profile] gothicstargrl.livejournal.com 2006-02-06 05:14 pm (UTC)(link)
Well, think of it this way: you write in English twenty times better than some of the native English-speakers currently on the Internet. That's at least some sort of accomplishment. :D

Ah, I dream of the day when I can write something in Japanese and then forget how to say the same thing in English. XD

[identity profile] gothicstargrl.livejournal.com 2006-02-06 06:04 pm (UTC)(link)
XD I should be lynched for that icon. And the "now he ded from curry" one, too. But they make me laugh like a crazed hyena, so I keep them. :D

Bah, I've been in a high school English class before. Sometimes it's not laziness, just genuine stupidity. (It's both funny as hell and very, very sad when a fifteen-year-old does not know how to spell the word "horse".)

Hai, ganbarimasu! Arigatou, Asuka-san. ♥ (And that's about half of my knowledge of phrases right there. XD;; *still a novice*)

[identity profile] gothicstargrl.livejournal.com 2006-02-06 07:54 pm (UTC)(link)
Um. Uh. You wouldn't kill me if I said I thought that part was funny as hell, would you? XD

Hee! I'd be glad to make you icons anytime, just give me a picture and/or any text you'd want to use. :3 (I'd probably avoid using any brushes made by other people, but they aren't neccessary to make Very Pretty Icons--mostly it's just clever use of layers and shiny colors. XD)

I know~ There was also the time I went into the girl's bathroom and saw on a wall yet another instance of my peers not knowing how to spell the word horse (or anything else, really): "fuk u bicth and the hoase u road in on"

It makes me very, very glad that I only had to put up with one semester of ninth grade before I was homeschooled. XD;;

[identity profile] complexphoenix.livejournal.com 2006-02-06 10:08 pm (UTC)(link)
Hmm. You could try just having the picture and not writing anything.

[identity profile] gothicstargrl.livejournal.com 2006-02-06 10:35 pm (UTC)(link)
I'm not too great at screencapping, either. XD;; I thought your Sasuke filler ep screencaps were really good, though. The ones I make only turn out somewhat decent, and look a tiny bit better when you shrink them down to 100x100 pixels.

Oh! *blush* Everyone says that about me~ I can't be that nice. o-o Well, the offer still stands, if you ever want any absurdly colorful icons. *grin* (I love making them way, way too much, and I never use half of 'em. XD)

And...hm. I don't think about ItaSasu very often, but the phrases "the strong will devour the weak" and "love me, and despair" come to my mind. ...Must not think too much about Galadriel!Itachi. XD

[identity profile] typecast.livejournal.com 2006-02-07 04:14 am (UTC)(link)
Your icon kills me ded.

Can I gank please? Will credit with loovvve. ;D

[identity profile] gothicstargrl.livejournal.com 2006-02-08 08:00 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh, certainly! Damn, this is the first time anyone's ever wanted to use one of my icons. XD

[identity profile] typecast.livejournal.com 2006-02-08 11:17 pm (UTC)(link)
Thanks! ^___^

[identity profile] crazy-toffee.livejournal.com 2006-02-06 05:27 pm (UTC)(link)
... you don't want to see what my Spanish writing is like. =_=

[identity profile] crazy-toffee.livejournal.com 2006-02-06 05:50 pm (UTC)(link)
<-- me, Chilean.

Mothertongue: Spanish. XD (See? We can share the rock bottom part)

[identity profile] naatz.livejournal.com 2006-02-06 08:01 pm (UTC)(link)
*mortified* DITTO!

Takes me a story or two to remember how to write in Hebrew. >< And EVEN THAT is in very high and pompous Hebrew!

*___* I only wish I could be that fluent in any of the (...counts on fingers) five other languages I've been studying for the past mumblemumble years...

[identity profile] animeprincess.livejournal.com 2006-02-06 08:27 pm (UTC)(link)
^^;;; at least you can fool people into thinking you're from a country you're not from...sorta..

eh. i really need to get back on the ball with my japanese...

Ne, Asuka-sama, ninjin desu ka? X3

[identity profile] animeprincess.livejournal.com 2006-02-06 11:11 pm (UTC)(link)
heh. Ninjin is part of a joke an art teacher told me(he went to japan... ended up learning the language, etc.)

two men meet somewhere, and one is obviously foreign.
A: Nihonjin desu ka?(are you japanese?)
B: Iie. (no.)
A: ...Ninjin desu ka? (are you a carrot?)
B: *facepalm*

...yeah. weird. but the words are close, so...funny.

[identity profile] rainbowlasers.livejournal.com 2006-02-06 09:00 pm (UTC)(link)
I can't even speak in French properly, nowadays. I always insert english words in there. ♥

[identity profile] rainbowlasers.livejournal.com 2006-02-06 09:40 pm (UTC)(link)
English corrupts people. Nobody understands me when I speak. Ever. T_T

[identity profile] rainbowlasers.livejournal.com 2006-02-06 09:44 pm (UTC)(link)
We'll be the only one to, but we will! *sobs* We'll always understand our own losing of the motherlanguage pain!

[identity profile] twilite-kitsune.livejournal.com 2006-02-06 09:46 pm (UTC)(link)
Everyone does it... I think x_x Every language I speak winds up with english words just randomly thrown in...sadly they are mostly food words...like hamberger...T_T and I hate saying McDonalds in Japanese...

[identity profile] rainbowlasers.livejournal.com 2006-02-06 09:48 pm (UTC)(link)
English pwns all languages.

[identity profile] valles-uf.livejournal.com 2006-02-07 12:49 pm (UTC)(link)
The nice thing about speaking it natively is that you never have to worry about having your mother tongue pursued down an alleyway, beaten unconcious, then subjected to having her pockets gone through for new vocabulary (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/James_D._Nicoll).

Ja, -n

[identity profile] malika.livejournal.com 2006-02-06 09:39 pm (UTC)(link)
*g* that's happening to my mom. I mean, her grammar's still awful, but she slips up and uses English words (that can easily be translated to her language XD) sometimes, even to my grandmother, who doesn't know any English besides "happy birthday" XDDD

[identity profile] malika.livejournal.com 2006-02-06 09:47 pm (UTC)(link)
Telugu - she's from South India :3 she speaks like five languages so she mixes them up a lot, so now she can't even speak her mothertongue properly anymore XD;

The Chinese defaults to Japanese and vice-versa; the French defaults to English; and my English sounds more and more ESL every day as I try to have a conversation while I would rather be sleeping.

Already. Sometimes. I can't remember English words. I suck. *glomps you in sympathy* :x
