FMA ships
So far i'm not seeing lots of it. ^^; Well, as far as Ed-pairings go, anyway. But I'm more into the yaoi side of the Force, because, well. because i'm a yaoi girl first. But also because either ed is gay or his pants are too tight to let his cock do any talking. XD

Ed: ooh, nice array.
I find romantic feelings between ed and al actually kind of more believable that roy/ed, because roy is SO painfully straight, and i can feel no sexual tension between them. Are roy and ed compatible personality-wise? hell yes. Do they realize it in the show? no. Now, if a fic can convince me, i love the pairing.
Ed and Al are already everything to each other. It wouldn't be such a stretch if it became physical. It's just one step farther. So if they ignore social taboos (or even if they don't -- that would provide nice angst, not that they proved to care much about taboos before -- see the resurrecting mommy incident) it wouldn't be that OOC. But really, it can be just as strong without being physical as well, so as long as the fic doesn't downplay their love for each other, i really don't care if they're shagging or not.
Ed/Havoc or Fury: uhhhhhh. rrright. I guess you could write one, if you justify it well, but i'm not seeing it in the show.
Ed/Envy: OMG THIS IS SO WRONG. And kind of incesty when you think about it. And definitely perverted and twisted and probably non-con, to boot. Rawrr. *drools*
Ed/Scar: HAHAHA! no. Al+Scar, maybe. That would be so fucked up, though XD
Het Ed-pairings
Ed/Winry: uh. no. Winry is SO obviously after sciezka. XD Kidding, I could see where that comes from, but Winry is a childhood friend first, and to BOTH of them. somehow I would just hate it if she chose one over the other -- and Al would feel so unbelievably lonely if his brother and his childhood friend got together and he stayed a piece of armor.
That and Ed obviously hasn't realized Winry is a girl yet.
That and Winry likes Ed's automail more than Ed himself.
That and Winry is a lesbian with sciezka and the automail-legs girl and maybe even Hawkeye, too
(and if Al isn't an armor anymore, and is still very present in the fic, i fear the Al/OC since he doesn't interact with other girls so much. i do not like OCs as a general rule-- they have enough great characters in the show already! an OC would have to be incredibly well-rounded to make itself a place in FMA without going Sue... but that is another rant)
... now if Ed and Al shared Winry... ooh, plotbunny. O_o;;;
Ed/Sciezka: It's Mikke's fault. she broke my brain. I CAN SEE IT. But only if sciezka learns to be a little more assertive (or else ed will walk all over her and not even notice), and provided she doesn't just memorize things but understands them as well. If she does, the meeting of their minds could be a sight to behold.
Ed/Hawkeye: Hawkeye is either a lesbian or in love with Roy. She likes the fullmetal boy, but if she wants a man, she'll go after Roy.
Ed/Maria Ross: NOOOO. she's so obviously MOTHERLY. She keeps reminding them that they're children and she should be taking care of them, not the other way around. Not only I cannot see it, but I refuse to even try.
Ed/Psiren: see my reason why Ed is gay. XD

Rose does NOT deserve Ed. Sure, in the end she gets a bit less annoying, but she's weak and frail and not that smart. She's a nice girl, a good girl. SHE HAS NO SPINE TO SPEAK OF. she gets influenced too easily. And she wouldn't get the first thing about alchemy if you beat her over the head with a beginner's book -- which Ed is definitely not reading.
The only reason i could see them shacking up is that Ed is burned out and wants to stop thinking and play pretend at having a family-- heck, she's got a brat already, so he wouldn't even need to knock her up. That and he'd feel good about helping her, poor single mother that she is. XP RAURGH.

That wasn't romantic, it was just really creepy. He went down there expecting a showdown (possibly to the death) with his dad and the Sins, finds what is essentially a giant graveyard. Creepy music starts playing in an old building, he comes in, it's all lit up, and WTF? There's Rose. There's Rose, who's blank-eyed and zombielike and suddenly all over him. Yeah, the boobs in his face might have prompted a blush, but there's nothing romantic about the situation whatsoever.

While it's acknowledged that Roy is all about the girls in the anime, Roy sort of gets put in the same role as Yohji from WK. 1) He's feeling insecure about his sexuality and so dates many girls to keep up the proper image. 2) He's a sex god, so he'll go after anything pretty on two legs, and is merely more discreet about guys. Hee.

For some reason, heh. I enjoy reading stories (though not too much, you can get tired of anything) wherein Roy is angsting and feeling guilty over seducing/shagging a boy half his age and under his command. Oddly enough, Ed never seems to find anything wrong with this scenario. Wonder why...
I don't see them noticing anywhere in the show. There's the thing, of course, where the show is firmly General and doesn't really make romance and/or sexual interactions a high priority, so there's not much of anyone noticing anyone in the show itself. Heh. But yeah, a little less so on their part in particular. Much of it is that they simply don't interact all that much in the series, for all the time Roy gets onscreen. (I actually find it a mark of a good story that they managed to spend to much time developing characters and plots not immediately central to the main character without me getting bored of it, as I usually do. But I digress.) However, that's what fanfiction is for! To provide them with lots and lots of opportunities! :D

Actually, I'm not much into FMA pairings, as I mentioned in my review of your fic. *shrug* It's like how I avoid reading Gundam Seed fics... There are just some series I enjoy to a degree that I don't want my opinion tainted by fan twists. ^.^
