AUGH, what an awful person get stuck with in any situation. Refusing to stick around for that is absolutely the right call -- anybody who makes her own acts of violence somebody else's fault is an ABUSIVE SHITHEAD who should be avoided if (as is too-often the case) she can't be stopped.

And it is not "running away," any more than it would be running away to get off the train tracks when you can see the train coming. Removing yourself from harm's way is SELF-PRESERVATION, which is different from cowardice. Augh.
