I was going to comment on AO3, but forgot, and then I tripped over this chapter here, so: allow me to pour you a cup full of squee!

Seriously -- how did you manage to combine two such disparate fandoms so well? GW is such a big part of my fannish history; I rarely read in it anymore, but I'd never forget it (and yep, my appreciation of Duo has not diminished a whit!). Meanwhile I managed to get hooked on [profile] dsudis's Iskryne/Generation Kill crossover series (and GK isn't even one of my fandoms!) so maybe I've just developed a kink for wolfbrother!crossovers and didn't notice? Gundam pilots with wolves just make me that perfect mix of SO HAPPY! and 'wow, yeah, I can see that!'

I love Duo's complaints about how his origin makes all his paperwork problems go away, but not his wolf's -- funny aside, but also kind of significant in terms of which matters more to the rest of the universe; colonists are less important than bondwolves. (I'm really curious to see how Killer's origins are handled, now that the story is out -- will they report his turning up years later to the police, to close the case, and/or to the pack he came from for the sake of their breeding records? If his dam's still alive, will he get to meet her? How well would she remember him, if at all?)

The desperation involved in Duo and Solo's hiding in sewers and considering a puppy as a meat source is a striking picture of the way Duo grew up (and L2 in general); his discomfort in talking about it to the Preventers who have clearly never been deprived in their lives felt very real to me, and the fact they they seemed more incredulous over his wolf's lineage than over the fact that he'd been living in a sewer... Wolfbrothers, I want to like you, but sometimes you're a bit monofocused. D:

Good puppy now. (my puppy now.)
Killer's hesitant happiness caught in Duo's throat.

Aaaaaaaand there go my tear ducts.
