Things I especially liked, in no particular order: Signless wanting a mark of his death and Disciple immediately getting that and suggesting tattoos; the hints about Karkat's pre-Scratch life (pretty far back in the history of that world? but not too far back, if photography was a thing that existed, oh damn it, now I want All The History); Signless thinking crow's feet made Disciple more beautiful, partly because they mean she lived; Signless selling saltwater to seadwellers (on a dare from Psiioniic? that seems like something they'd have done); the differences between Karkat and Signless and their approaches to leadership; Disciple remembering, and how much that obviously means to Signless, even if he tells himself he'll be okay if none of his other companions remember as well.

...Speaking of that last, do we ever get to see the kids reacting to memories of being each other's guardians? Because it's different to remember that than to just know as a cold fact that in another life you played a different role. And also, I would die laughing at Dave and Rose and whatever they may or may not have done in the post-Scratch world. Or the Prospit kids and their varying reactions to growing up with the Condesce. Or anything, really; there is just so much potential in that bit of world-building. :-)
