Haha, if Ar Tonelico had more people with bizarre biology, instead of just one guy who they fixed, then it would be right up your alley. I mean, it's not exactly packbonding, but all the magic ladies are wired together inside their unconsciousness. They can't actually tap into this, but it alters their moods, and some of them actually bring it up into subconscious layers which leaves them extra vulnerable to suddenly crying and gnashing teeth and oh god, where are these fireballs coming from, she's burning down the whole orphanage, why does she hate the orphans?
The most interesting people though would probably be the people who are actually whole little communities, four personalities in one body, though there's only 2.5 of them. 2.5 because the first one could totally have gotten more, but one tenant to share her body was all she wanted. And there's one girl who's kinda into transhumanism, but after 350 years as a computer decided it was overrated? She's cool too, even if her store of badass and taunting nudism dries up around people she actually cares about.
...actually, it's not nearly strange enough, which is kind of weird to say about this series! I mean, normally it's so Japanese and screwed up it's almost funny. There's wads of stuff about artificial sapient and rebelling for their freedom, multiple times even, in the backstory, but it almost never comes up in the actual games and it makes me a sad Tank/penguin.
