It's going to be ages until this movie comes out. AGES. And Naruto movies usually suck; the last Shippuden ones have sucked especially badly. But.

So maybe he's not doing the script itself, but he's given them the big plot, PLUS he was the one who decide what happens with X characters....

Sixteen years ago, a gigantic demon beast known as the Nine-Tailed Demon Fox was released from its jinchūriki by an unknown shinobi wearing a mask. The village of Konohagakure was close to destruction by the attack of the Nine-Tails, but the village was saved by its leader. Minato Namikaze and his wife Kushina Uzumaki — who was the jinchūriki at the time of the attack — sealed away the demon inside their new born son: Naruto Uzumaki. However, this act of saving the village cost them their lives and they left the future of the ninja world to Naruto.

With the demon fox sealed away, things continued as normal. However, the peace of the village did not last long, for Pain, Konan, Itachi Uchiha, Kisame Hoshigaki, Sasori, Deidara, Hidan and Kakuzu — members of a dreaded organisation called the Akatsuki — attacked Konohagakure. Naruto narrowly managed to launch a counter-attack but why have these shinobi appeared when all of them were meant to have died? The mystery remains, but the shinobi are praised by their families for completing such a dangerous mission. However, one of them who has never known the faces of his parents, Naruto, cannot help but feel lonely. At that exact time, suddenly, the masked man makes his appearance in Konoha. Naruto and Sakura are both attacked by the man's mysterious new dōjutsu.

This seems to spell HEY NARUTO WANNA VISIT A WORLD WHERE YOUR PARENTS WHO WE HAVE WASTED A HUGE PARAGRAPH ON IN THAT HERE SUMMARY NEVER DIED AND GET TO INTERACT WITH THEM AND STUFF to me, to which I can only answer with NGHYESPLZ.

Sasuke: A playboy through and through, in expression and stance, in clothes and accessories.

... pfffhahaha BIZARRO SASUKE YES PLZ. this promises to be hilarious. And confident!LIPSTICK!Hinata!!!! (anyone slut-shaming her in this journal for confidently owning her sensuality instead of being sexualized against her will I will kick in the nose. Other women in this manga have been seen wearing less.)

I have no idea if the plot will be worth it or anything, but now I am SO CURIOUS about any interactions with bizarro!nontraumatized!Sasuke and Naruto & Sakura (who are from outside the genjutsu!!!!! who probably remember normal!sasuke!!!!) oh god yes please.

Even if it otherwise sucks, it will be hilarious. Plus, Naruto interacting with Kushina and Minato. Hopefully they'll actually get to recognize each other instead of that last movie's irritating "minato is right here but naruto and him keep just existing side by side and having no meaningful contact!" bullcrap. (i never even managed to finish watching that movie, and i watched every single filler until the end of the konoha destruction arc. it's saying everything.) So frustrating. SOOO frustrating. >:/
