To me skill is way more effective than brute strength, so I can see the Striders being quite effective. Still, if John is stronger than Dirk and Dave is that because of engineering lucky strike or do they all have specific preplanned genetic superpowers?
If he can hear vibrations along the dolphin spectrum and can be weak towards it, does that mean they are going to use a frequency attack on the trolls at some point? Or ooh, can they communicate with those things and have sound wave disrupters/overloaders screw up their telepathic communications? Edit: Wait. Can trolls hear radio signals? As in possibly the background radiation of the big bang? *_* Radio would explain vast distance of space communication if the empire's as big as you're implying.
I know that the higher on the hemospectrum the trolls are the more aquatic based they seem to be, so. It just seems odd to me that the largest predator on their planet would be one that is underwater 90% of the time. What makes them a threat vs the majority of trolls that live on land? I dunno. Dolphins. Whales. Attack sharks?
