I am seriously beginning to wonder where you get the time to write all this wonderful crap and still have time to draw, work, and otherwise do all necessary things for survival...... IE: shopping, chores, eating...
Did you intentionally make Scythe look like a Swamp Dragon from D&D? The similarity is interesting, given the differing personality. Swamp Dragons are extremely violent, and supposedly have terrible senses of humor, and short tempers.
I love Wing. Awesome illustration.
And that last paragraph was hilarious. Carrier pidgeon...lol! Given this is J we're talking about, I wouldn't be surprised if he did do some tinkering along those lines. Carrier pidgeons navigate by electromagnetism, and just by memorizing the "feel" of a place they can always find their way back to that place. So it would make sense for J to make use of that if he were genetically altering a dragon for guerrilla combat. The ability to return to an exact position would be exceptionally useful.
I am wondering how you're going to incorporate Scythe's invisibility shields into a dragon ability. I've never read Temeraire, although I want to, so I've no idea of what the dragons in that series are capable of.
All in all, another promising wort of art from the Asuka.*hugs*
