Oh, the genders were easy! (not really but.) Deathscythe was all "yo, i'm manly and tough and manly, did I mention manly, plz to make them all chicks because i need a harem baby" so that was one settled. They I thought Quatre gets written as a pseudo-giggly wimpy stereotype thing often enough, i wasn't making it worse by giving him a female dragon. (Sandrock is flirty and kinda dramatic, but not gender-confused at all.) Nataku, I thought it would be funny that she and Wufei would bitch each other out about his belief that women don't belong on a battlefield. Heavyarms always seemed like it would be a tough and thick-looking, well-armored dragon, so I thought it would be fun to make it female because there's no reason why all solid/thick breeds would throw only males, damn it. And then Wing was female because she could have been either one so I threw a coin, and after that I thought it would be hilarious if she and Epyon ever flirted, and how pissed off Deathscythe would get, and how he'd keep hitting on her and she'd be all "... unprofessional!". Then again Scythe hits on Nataku and Heavyarms just as much. So he's not exactly heartbroken. XD
