Mmm this is true, I suppose that would be a hard thing when writing a story out like that, you can't really think too much about how things would happen beyond your outcome. Which I suppose explains a lot of things. It would be actually really hard to write like that, oh wow.

I used to do that assignments, then have a minor heart attack... then go back to reading fic.

I think Kishi had his original idea, but then as you write you realize, "okay he can't stay pure and innocent forevar so we have to add romance... but i hate writing romance i'm not working in shoujo manga for a reason aaaa what do i do, i want to write about boyfriendships shit *forces self to add some here and there because it's just too weird if he doesn't and then quickly pushes it out of the way*" or like "that's maybe not awesome for sakura... AAAA I'M WRITING FOR BOYS AAAA TOO MANY ISSUES TO JUGGLE WITH" (mmm male privilege in japan... but that's another discussion) or plot-related fallout becomes clearer, like "awwww SHIT if i do it like that then of COURSE naruto will go after them right away and there won't be time for X to happen, I need to slow him down -- shit. okay, I don't want him beating up Kakashi and Yamato so, uh. let's have him faint. i mean, it's a sucky situation, that's not completely injustifiable that he would have a panic attack at this point, right?" and stuff like that, or advisors telling him "okay no sasuke isn't being evil ENOUGH so getting him back won't be satisfying enough, you have to make the roadblocks HUUUUGE. like. MOON HUGE. just make it secretly not entirely his fault and even if he has intent don't make him actually succeed at evil things and no one will have a problem with the redemption or find it too little too late!" or maybe "okay konoha getting destroyed was EPIC but, dealing with the aftermath of all that death is just too adult for the manga's target audience so you have to make it all better somehow once you're done. Yes." (i am totally willing to blame that on his assistants and advisor type people. yes. >___> *blind faith*)

I think in between planning the overall plot, planning the contents of each chapter down to panel layout and all that shit, sketching everything and then inking it over, he's been eating and breathing his manga for the last twelve years and of course it has lost in spontaneity and freshness, and the direction and mood have shifted from what it was. That was pretty inevitable, I think. Still sad though, but I don't see how that could have been avoided. T____T

i've had this problem with long fic before, you have SO MANY AWESOME IDEAS, but actually writing them out takes so fucking long and by the time you get there you have already rehashed it a hundred times in your head, and mentally you're wayyyyyy past it and already having the yays over what happens to their grandchildren or something, if you haven't switched fandoms entirely. XD I mean, twelve years on the same story. Whoa.

But anyway.

Sasuke is having "mai waifu" thoughts. hahahaha. XD figures that happens the second Sakura isn't paying attention to him anymore. *roll roll* ohman, i hope it'll come off as IC for everyone because i love it, i'd be heartbroken if it doesn't work. ;^;

OOOOH I remember the Saints fic! yes, I want moar of that one *__* what's stuck with it? wanna try to talk it out? I think you are right, its come down 'AAAAH WRITING FOR BOYS/I NEED THE PLOT TO DO THIS/FUCK, PISS OFF, I DON'T WANT TO WRITE ANYMORE NARUTO' (Lulz, I recently went to China, and jah tis not Japan, but similar enough in terms of Gender...) Like I really luff Sasuke and Naruto's friendship, I want moaaaar of it. And Team 7 yes, nom. But basically, I know this is really petty but its the total role reversals, particularly Sakura and kind of Sasuke as well (but his I sort of get). Naruto, thanks to Gaara's sharp verbal slap in the face, seems to be going okay though *clings to Gaara*. I also get the skipping over the after math, cause Kishi's on a time frame and it would make it lag but it was the casual after Pein's been and gone, of "dude I'm getting some ramen" it just left me going "WHY, OF ALL THE THINGS THAT WOULD BE REBUILT FIRST, IT WOULD NOT BE YOUR RAMEN STAND, NARUTO. ARGH. WHY THIS CRUELTY ON LOGIC" *has break down on computer screen*. But mostly the aftermath for me was pretty much summed up in a episode of Naruto The Abridged Series, after Orochimaru and such.

Jiraiya: And now we are going to traverse distant land in search of my great friend and to train you some more.
Naruto: ... but shouldn't we stay and help clean up after the battle?
Jiraiya: Bahahahahahhahahahahahahhahahah! .... you haven't been a main character long have you?

Jaah, I'd really like to see Sasuke sort of slipping into the husband roll, and being sort of confused by it a) sort of mimicking Fugaku, cause he thinks thats what husbands/fathers do is Sasu-brain-land b) Sakura totally not listening and not getting what he is trying to do when it sort of dawns on her.

ehehe thankyeee. Well its kinda, I don't actually know how to resolve-Sakura issue! At all! I thought I did, but I wrote it down and it didn't work, at all. Just nooooo. I've been hitting that rock ever since, but with no good way to resolve it, but having it not resolved feels like chickening out and it would be way way waaay too angsty, and in a certain way I wanted this fic to be kind of lighter? But Sakura is sitting there going 'NO! I will never be okay with this ever! and I won't let you write anything else, not the Itachi bit, not the Naruto-Foxy bit! Nuthin'! Till I am resolved!' (and d'aw reviews would be nice, but pssh tis reaally not necessary. :3 and my mother is complaining at me that I should go to bed, am dutifully ignoring her though~)
