Heehee, I wouldn't think the Wild West theme had much merit either if I hadn't read Sowell's fic....
Um. Pirates? *is shot* Yakuza? Future AU with fighter pilots vs. dragons? *is shot multiple times*
I totally agree with the feudal Japan ronin idea, especially after this cosplay:
