I just couldn't figure out how this fit with the previous one. What I got from this is that Sasuke sensed some people coming and decided to run because he figured if they got to Sakura Kyuubi would kill them anyway? I don't, I read it last night while taking a break from organic chemistry so it is highly likely that I missed stuff.
