Just finished watching Ouran High School Host Club...

I'm done with the anime, working my way through the manga...

... and now I'm going to be super-predictable and ask for host-orgy recs.

My favorite (but not by much) dynamic is Tamaki/Haruhi. Twins/Haruhi is very nice (prrt Kaoru > Hikaru > Haruhi tangles, such nice shipping pings), but I like Tamaki too much to leave him out. But when you come to that, then Kyouya should be there too because I love the bond between him and Tamaki, and Haruhi is good for him too and if he was left out he'd be lonely again and nooo.

Honey is just too shota to bone, and beside getting between him and Mori sounds kind of impossible so it's not like they need to be integrated to the hotness pile, but if you've got a fic that proves me wrong...!

Or alternately, gen is nice too. Yeah. >_>;; Please give me Ouran Host Club recs. ;__;



edit: So many recs! ^o^ thank you very much. (Hehe. I'm seeing some fics are pretty widespread favorites seeing as they've been pimped three times or more. XD)
Personal biases: I like it better when Tamaki isn't left out/ignored. He's the father after all! u.u And when Kyouya's allegiance/preference goes to Tamaki more than to Haruhi. So I don't really like Kyouya/Haruhi by themselves. XDD;;

My personal favorites, in no particular order:
*Three's a crowd by miko_no_da. Twins/haruhi, no incest -- the voices of all three characters rang very true, the interpersonal dynamics were well-done, and while I'm left with a niggling sense of "... tamaki?" at the end, in-fic it isn't a problem at all. Prr. I think i like it even better because it's not about porn.
*Fraught with imagined dooms by bravecows. Short but awesomely IC snippet of a dialogue at night. bwahaha. Tamaki/Haruhi. Her Kyouya/Haruhi fic was also very well-written, but my biases run more toward the Kyouya♥Tamaki XD; Also I was sad for Hikaru. ;.;

I'm sure they're on everyone's fave lists, but then that's what you get from making a rec list through asking for recs. Same things tend to pop up again and again. XD;;

She wrote a cute Tamaki/Haruhi fic (http://bravecows.livejournal.com/169865.html), but her Kyouya/Haruhi fic (http://bravecows.livejournal.com/190476.html) is much more to my taste, partially because I'm weak to that pairing and partially because it cheerfully acknowledges that she loves them all and is therefore that little bit closer to orgy!fic. ♥

I've only read a few Ouran fics, and the majority weren't that memorable. The one that really kinda stuck with me was It's a Wonderfully Splendid Magnificent Life (http://www.fanfiction.net/s/3311845/1/Its_a_Wonderfully_Splendid_Magnificent_Life) on FF.Net, which is mainly gen and pretty much all about Tamaki and his relationships with the other hosts and Haruhi. Dunno if that's what you were looking for, but I still think it's a pretty good read.

I've read more than that. But I tend to be a Haruhi/Hitachin and Haruhi/Host Club fan. I don't mind her with Tamaki or Kyouya but it isn't my preferred pairing.

Oh I'm so glad someone already pimped Kryssa flute's "In the Circle of Elemental Arms"! I loved that one and reread it occasionally ^_^ It is both well written and just massively awesome in the whole group bonding that she has going.

Other must reads are:

But the Must Read King of Ouran fiction for me is CalebKing's "Oddballs". My absolute favorite Ouran story is sam_storyteller's "The Brilliant Find A Date For Kyouya Plan" (Part 1 (http://sam-storyteller.livejournal.com/97137.html#cutid1), Part 2 (http://sam-storyteller.livejournal.com/97016.html#cutid1)). It's ultimately Tamaki/Kyouya with hints at Haruhi/Mori. I ♥ it to itty bitty little pieces because it's screamingly funny, and manages to capture the madcap zaniness of the anime in print form. I guarantee you'll fall in love with this story, it's that fabulous. :D The author hasn't written a ton in this fandom, but his other Ouran fics can be found here (http://sam-storyteller.livejournal.com/tag/ouran). I also have a fondness for another of his stories Viola Grown (http://sam-storyteller.livejournal.com/95952.html#cutid1) which is Kyouya/Haruhi.

I love Ouran! Sooo many pings. My friends do like it so much, but they're the ones missing out on all of the fun, so meh. I think it's because they read Fruit's Basket first, and when I tried to get them to read Ouran they compared them unfavorably. I tried reading Fruit's Basket, but I was sorely unimpressed.
