-He keeps fighting to survive by habit and to be contrary more than by genuine desire to live. -He feels guilty when he thinks sex thoughts about Kouriel but never about Ashram (or anyone else for that matter) -He despises Alizea for the way she knows what he's like and yet she'll still call him a friend and mean it and stake her rep on him. He just pretends he's grateful because she's a good ally. (and as an enemy she'd be easy to kill off anyway.)
