No, the first shippuuden movie didn't have Sasuke in it. It's all about Naruto and some seer!Sue named Shion (? i think). It's not on DVD yet and so it's not on the internet, but it's got a summary on wikipedia becaus eit was in the theaters a while ago. This one is a new one. ^^

Brain twin. ♥ oh, i'd really love it so much if it also included some "meanwhile in Sound" stuff. I really don't hope it will be in any way canon-compliant except in the most basic of ways -- as in, I LAUGH AT YOUR CHRONOLOGY -- but still Sasuke/Oro/Kabuto interaction would be shiny, and even shinier if it somehow included Karin and/or Suigetsu (maybe Juugo too, but he's not supposed to have met Sasuke before. Alas.) I doubt it will happen -- it being a movie means it needs its own set of brand-new villains and good guys, and Karin and Suigetsu aren't even close to being in the anime yet, but... *hopes anyway* T.T

... betcha the movie will be about something else entirely, just like the "naruto dies!!" one. I heard the trailers were hella misleading for that one. XD

Also, yeeah. Way to piss on people's parade. It's a movie, not even part of canon, why do people feel the need to whine that it's not about Naruto. Like there's not enough Naruto in canon. D;

Quoting Wiki: The movie will be released on DVD in Japan on April 23, 2008. Seeing as it hit the theaters in August 2007, I think we can wait a while for the Sasuke movie to get online. ;_;

Don't underestimate the movie directors' ability to make it stupid. XD But yes, if it's Sasuke POV it damn well should be darker and with more emotional subtleties than "zomg someone is in dangeeer let us prove them the value of courage and determination!" ... But the main demographic for naruto still isn't that big on seinen and horror. XD; (but hopefully after how the formula attracted less people this time around they've decided to change it a bit... *crosses fingers*)

I love Naruto's face as Sasuke runs past. I really do hope Sasuke and Naruto get to interact some. Although it's going to be a lot of Naruto staring at Sasuke, it should still be interesting to see how the writers handle it.

Hm, I don't think he's fallen far enough that he would let an innocent die before his eyes if he could have saved them easily. He wouldn't go to great lengths or take big risks (unless the character really hit his buttons, like "little boy with problem related to big brother/father" or "dying!sakura/naruto clone") but he'd find a way to save them. Though he'd probably do his best to pretend he doesn't care and just dispatched the bad guy because it was in his way somehow. XD I don't think he'd waste time looking into something and personally involving himself too much, but if it happened right before him, yeah. He's still got something decent deep down.

... but that kind of movie tends to end with a "d'aww, friendship FOREVER" outlook, and with Sasuke? noooononononono. He'd save someone's life, yeah, but apart from that, he'd be hella harsh on them, ignore them hard, and would dump them as fast as he can. Like he needs more bonds, seriously.

... Sue? Dx cannot see it. Just cannot. unless the chick was, like, the second coming of Uchiha Mikoto. Somehow. And even then, mmmm incesty vibes and guilt and not-really-about-you-ness.

Honestly, I think this somewhat supports my theory that the scenes from the beginning of Shippuuden ep1 were from a movie. I really, really think this is gonna be the battle at Orochimaru's pad, etc, which would make sense if they put it out in like, April/May (with how SLOW the series is moving)... but would also NOT make sense because the movies are NEVER canon.

But if you're gonna have a canon movie, well, that's a good place to start I'd think.
