Also, Sasuke doesn't look as fat when he's out of the curse seal mode. And I do believe there are a couple of panels I shall color in this chapter as soon as there's a clean lineart, for they are Pretty.

No analysis-babble, save that it really does seem that sudden character-developing flashback = DOOM. Goodbye Deidara. You were fun, un. u.u

You were fun, un. <- *cries* OMG I KNOW! *;.;* I know there's the whole "plot moving forward" and all, but why does that seem to mean giving some back-story on a character and then killing them (sometimes more than once *>.<*) just as we start liking them? Why can't we get to know their ins-and-outs, have them show up for more than one arc, and then have the big bad battle? Dang it.

We gotta see his awesome Akatsuki-worthiness. *^.^* I want to get to know Tobi, but I doubt we'll learn much more than a special skill or two [hopefully used to help Deidara (should he need it {and he will - this is Sasuke we're talking about *>.<*})] - any character-stuff or background will have to wait. We haven't seen the leader and there's another Akatsuki member who hasn't been named yet, so I doubt Tobi [who has all these theories (and his own mysteriousness) floating about] will be doing too much. *sighs* Oh well. *^.^*

Cuz as bad guys they really don't need a backstory until they're about to buy it. Since he wants it to cause some emotional impact. *sniffle* bastard. ;_;

Tobi's "mystery" is starting to get annoying. If he's later revealed to have some kind of awesome fighting ability, I'm probably going to go GRARRR because of all the times he could have used it, should have used it, and didn't only because Kishi wanted to preserve the suspense.

Dammit, I disagree, Kishimoto!! We should get back-story for character development purposes, dammit. Especially after the character seems to be awesome, even from the little we get of them, and having been around a few years now (Deidara, for example) they should get some "Here's some info just because" screen time! *>.<*

Yeah, it really is. I want to see Tobi actually do something. Or say something with purpose. (I also want to know what sent Itachi off the deep end - I ask for too much, I know. *;.;*)

(oooh low blow wut!!?!?!?? *lol*) No, really...one of two things will happen soon: Deidara will die or Deidara will fight and get away with his life (and considering that he's fighting Sasuke, he'll probably be pretty banged up, but that's just my speculation, of course). Now, Tobi may or may not assist in the latter option, but if the former happens, and we see Tobi has some "super special moves" later on, I'll be so pissed. Like...really. *>.<*

Why is it that I get to really like a character right before (s)he dies?
-Chyo-ba-san: Cranky lady with family problems (and strong ties to Gaara's past?). Dies Heroically reviving the Kazekage, and redeems herself of past sins.
-Asuma-sensei: Not quite as laid back as Kakashi but definatly birds flocking together, could kick ass (with trench knives!), familial ties to Sandiame. Dies fighting Akatsuki, giving his star pupil the clues he needs to beat them (and possibly a bit more?)
-Orochimaru: Fandom calls him a pedophile from day 1 (maybe he is, not getting into that), understandable goal of ultimate power/world domination (a goal that every teenager toys with from time to time), not the most loyal creature (he's only human!), ties to Sandiame, a villan that I could identify with. Dies proving that Oh! Sasuke is stronger now! (and he looked like such a sweet kid...)
-Obito: What is there not to like about Obito? He's got a kid's ideals (freinds are more important than orders), has hopes for his future (was I the only one who saw those eye-droppers?), isn't afraid to speak up. Ties to the Uchiha Clan.
-Sandiame: Old fart who did the best he could, made a lot of mistakes and regrets all of them. Ties to almost anybody who was important. Again, only human, dies a hero's death.
And now Deidera. *sniff* SAVE HIM TOBI!!
I see a common theme here; they were either important or had ties to important people. "Look unimportant; the other guys might be low on ammo"

In other news, looks like we can determine that Deidera is in fact a guy. How? Takes on jobs just for the 'splodies.
