Nothing else to say, except that I don't like Sakura's civilian clothes. She looks too generic and not cute and hrrm. I dunno, it's just so bland.

She doesn't care who she has to dispose of to survive, so long as she survives.) and they have to twist it into something Naruto can relate to and yet trump tenfold. She tells Naruto that it's a good attitude for her to have, because so long as she survives, her country survives and once the enemy is defeated and she can rebuild her country, people will come back. Naruto, logically, tells her that they probably won't because who would want to live with a daimyo who thinks like that? He sure wouldn't. Then she goes into "you don't know how horrible my life was when i was kidnapped" (i was hoping for rape ahaha fat chance, or at least psychological torture...) instead she does "everyone watched me all the time" "everyone hated me" ...
Betcha Naruto will go the "yeah, me too, so what" route. AGAIN.
Anyway. I think I'm broken, because I sort of somewhat enjoyed parts of this filler. Some of the bad guy attacks were inventive and/or amusing, and I like how bitchy the princess is (but Naruto's jesus powers won't allow that to last long, alas). Also, one of the nice ninjas dies! Mrrr. And Chouji gets to fight. And for once they didn't push the NaruHina too much... yet. Or maybe I just have my goggles on. u.u

That's part of Hinata's background... she got kidnapped by that Cloud guy, he failed and they were going to demand her father's body, but Neji's dad said he'd die to protect his brother and neice. How come no one addresses this? Naruto and Sasuke are not the only people who have sucky backgrounds.

Aw, dammit, all my Naruto sites suck! I was wary of spoilers when I saw your cut, so I checked all my sites and didn't see any new chapters, so I clicked the cut and it was all:

I always wanted to see the Nibi. I always liked that demon in the folklore. =D And I always hoped with my very soul it wouldn't be a man carrying it. Because I'm a stupid American chikka, and seeing males with cat-like qualities is the BAD kind of gay (licking himself clean wtf XD ). So yes, I agree with you. It looks like a butchy girl to me.

Oh, right, I remember hearing about that part now! That's the arc where I finally stopped watching the show due to conflicts or something, and then got eaten by Naruto. I missed Yugi and Jounouchi's souls getting stolen, but I heard some of the horror stories.
(Plus, it brought back Rebecca. I hated that girl like I've never hated a character before. >P)

Also, that's only a small part of what makes Hinata's background sucky. She was very young, I'm sure that for her the event is only a distant nightmare by now, especially since she was probably unconscious and was snatched back quickly. It's not comparable to Naruto's past (he's still being treated badly) or Sasuke's sudden and immense trauma when he was old enough to remember all too well.
The constant demeaning attitudes and the inability to measure up to her father have probably done a lot more damage to her than her kidnapping, and for a ninja heiress? it's probably business as usual. Her clan wouldn't understand if she dwelled on it, and nowhere is it stated that she even thinks about it at all. Sure, maybe she angsts a lot in secret when she's offscreen, but I think she's got enough problems without joining the "my trauma is bigger than yours" club.
Now if people want to write about it, alright, but personally i'd find it very off-putting if it was like the main theme of the fic and not a few references. Having bigger angst to tote around doesn't make one a deeper character, just a cheaper one.

I personally thought Naruto had an excellent reaction, that he wouldn't want to live in a country that the princess was in charge of. I thought her attitude was terrible, I've seen villains with more compassion than she had. I'm sure she'll be alright by next episode, but still.
