First, merry belated christmas to all! ^^
For those interested, i got lotsa money and EEEE OMG LOUISE I LOVE YOU -- I mean, the absolute cutest Naruto and FMA fanthings and EEEE *loves on louise more*
My favoritest are the halloweeny pin-things

I mean, honestly -- BAT WINGS. And Sasuke is SMILING. And Sakura's ghost makes me think of Chibi-Al and EEEEEE CUTE. *braindead of cute*
Anyway, Louise, i love you, and have been squeeing over your presents for a few days now. I love you. lovelovelovelove you. You must have my babies.
Apart from that, the family was okay to deal with, especially since I managed to nap instead of babysitting the kids, muahahaha. They're a lot less prone to nagging now that i have a stable training/job-thing. In fact, they have nothing to lecture me about anymore. This is rather... hnn. Ah well, à cheval donné on ne regarde pas la dent.
I am now translating Garou. I wanted to do it before, to post it for christmas, but uh, I got busy and stuff, and it's going to be a new Year present instead. (if i don't getlazy busy again, that is) I'm also poking at the beach thing and Teamwork, and even my original fic (in french only :p).
Duo had spent the last five days testing nonstop the way Deathscythe's new flamethrowers behaved, and it seemed to work okay, though still not perfectly yet.
He finished typing the last recalibrating results and sent Howard the file with a sigh of relief. Finally, the so boring task was finished! He glanced at his laptop's clock. Only five PM, it was earlier than he'd thought it was. He smiled. Not that he didn't love spending hours tinkering and adjusting his new toy, but still, some time to himself! What to do...?
'It's been a while since I spent some time with Heero,' he thought with an amused smile. For once that he was the one to abandon his friend in order to type up a report... He jumped up, stretched, and went to search for his teammate.
Heero was in the backyard of the farm, fighting with Wufei. Duo was alarmed for a moment, until he realized that they were training. When Wufei managed to touch Heero, Heero mimicked his movement to learn it and Wufei showed him how to block it, or the other way around. To add some difficulty, they didn't always do it in that order. Sometimes Wufei threw another attack when Heero was still repeating the first one and Heero had to invent a way to block or dodge.
Duo observed them for a long while. He wasn't really familiar with these stylized ways of fighting, he was better acquainted with street-fight and 'everything goes', but to watch, it was magnificent, almost like a dance. Heero and Wufei both had a rhythm, a balance, a grace that made what they were doing as beautiful as it was lethal.
During all the time he watched them, they didn't talk to each other at all. Apparently it was far from their first session. He didn't even know if they'd noticed his presence; it wasn't the impression they gave, and yet their hyper-developed senses should have warned them... But they seemed so totally concentrated on each other than finally, he wouldn't have been surprised to learn that they'd forgotten the rest of the world.
After a half-hour, they still didn't show signs of slowing down. He realized that Wufei had seen him, but since he wasn't surprised, Duo concluded that the tiger had felt him at some point.
The Chinese teen jumped back and left his combat stance, nodding at Duo. Heero turned around, wiping the sweat on his brow with his forearm.
"Did you want something?" he asked.
As if he needed to want something to come see them, thought Duo.
"No," he replied simply.
Heero blinked, then turned back toward Wufei as if he was going to start up the training again without caring about their visitor. Wufei saw Duo's eyes narrow and thought that Heero may have changed a lot, but was still hopelessly obtuse sometimes.
"Do you want to practice, Maxwell?" he asked.
Duo grinned and stepped forward.
"Yeah, 'course!"
Heero frowned at Wufei, as if he was berating him for inviting Duo, and Duo suddenly felt unwelcome.
"Am I bothering you?" he asked with a smile that was a little less sincere than the first.
Heero blinked as he realized the way his actions could be interpreted.
"That's not it, but... Duo, you aren't a were, and... "
"Because I'm not a were, I can't spar with you? You're a good fighter, and Wufei too, but I can defend myself. Neither of you is bleeding, meaning no contamination risk. After all that time at the computer, some training can't hurt."
"You don't get it," Heero tried to explain. "We're more resilient and stronger, we could hit you too hard and not even notice..."
"Yuy, reassure me," Duo interrupted him, voice suddenly gone cold. "You are not telling me that I'm too weak and frail to fight you?"
"No, but..." sighed the boy.
But Duo could read on his face, clear as day, that it was exactly what he was thinking.
Wufei grimaced and stepped aside cautiously.
Suddenly, Duo had enough. He stalked forward until he was practically nose to nose with Heero, and calmly kicked his ankle out from under him, making him stumble forward. A solid grip on his t-shirt, a punch in the stomach, a hard push -- before he could think about reacting, Duo had thrown him down.
"I spent my whole life finding ways to kick stronger, heavier people's ass," he spat before turning around and stomping back inside the house.
Heero stayed sprawled on the ground watching him leave, stunned.
"Congratulations, Yuy," Wufei commented cynically, giving him a hand up. "Remind me to shoot you if you ever think about becoming a diplomat."
"What did I say?" he asked, honestly baffled.

When, finally, the woman strode in, she still hadn't let go of Naruto's hand.
Naruto jumped on his feet so fast, Sakura almost fell over. She clung to his hand, for a second thinking that he'd gone mad and was going to pounce on the Hokage. Kakashi-sensei tensed, his eye narrowing, and she suddenly realized how much his casual attitude was pretend.
"About time, you old hag!! Were you joints too achy or what?"
"Shut up, you idiot! Do you think I have nothing better to do than be at your beck and call?"
Tsunade frowned down at Naruto, hands on her hips.
"You should!!" Naruto shot back, stepping forward. Every ninja in sight stiffened, and a few took hold of their weapons. The Council member behind Tsunade spluttered angrily.
"Oh, really?"
Sakura winced, wondering if she had to intervene. She wanted to calm them, but at the same time she really didn't want to get in the middle. The Hokage was a fearsome woman.
"When it's so important, yes!"
Tsunade lifted her hand, clenched it in a fist over Naruto's head, and Sakura cringed; but Tsunade didn't hit Naruto in the end, because then he let his angry expression slip, and underneath, he looked scared.

Kyuubi was gaining ground. Sasuke burst through a clump of large bushes and immediately rolled on the side out of his line of sight, scaling a tree, sticking to it with hands and feet. He couldn't use much chakra or he'd be caught instantly.
He was quite probably going to get caught anyway, he knew it as much as he hated to admit it, but he had to try all his tricks before he conceded, or his pride would never take it.
He tried using as little chakra as possible, almost falling off a few times; it didn't help. The fox kept following, and as he wasn't even trying to be quiet, it was easy to hear him getting closer.
He tried using no chakra at all, but quickly discovered that it made his jumps a lot less powerful. And Kyuubi gained ground on him, but it offered a few seconds of respite where he couldn't pinpoint him either. Sasuke stopped breathing as the fox stomped past him, snarling in annoyance -- it looked like he'd fooled him.
Then Kyuubi paused, sniffed at the air... and Sasuke didn't wait to see how fast he would be found. He set off a decoy in another direction, making the leaves rustles, and while the fox reflexively turned to glance that way, he dashed off. The lag was used to get to the little river once again.
He would have walked over it, but then it would have defeated the purpose of not using chakra in the first place. He slipped in the river noiselessly and let himself float away. The water was cold against his heated skin, and he closed his eyes as the currents tumbled him and dragged him away, hoping that it would calm down his pounding heart.
Kyuubi no Youko was dangerous, one of the most dangerous creatures he'd ever met. It didn't matter that he couldn't actually kill or maim Sasuke; all his shinobi instincts always went haywire the second the beast awakened inside his lover, even when it wasn't allowed to emerge.

I'll make a different post for the EVIL NCS Kyuubi x Neji thinger, so people don't read it by accident. And i'm still poking right and left -- I'm even considering writing more garou. OMGWTF. I need more sugar. XD
That AMV rocks. So adapted to SasuNaru. I! Hate! Everything about you! Why! Do I... Love you! *melts*

Good things do come to those who wait! And wait. And wait... ::grins:: I'm just kidding! ~__^ It's very much worth every second! And more soon? How I love you. <3 Sounds like Trowa and Quatre stopped being disagreeable then? I was wondering how things would change now that everyone but Duo is a were. Rough times ahead eh? ::glomps::

Also, i'm glad to see another anime/manga fan who likes multiple-character relationships... i am polyamorous and pansexual, and it makes me quite happy to see works which acknowledge the beauty of such relationships, such as your "narusasusaku" piece, .
That smiling Sasuke is possibly the most frightening thing i have ever seen in a long time o_O
Garou!
