I am lost in a sea of pronouns! Oh, how handy, it's a beach scene. I brought my sunglasses. Here we go.

Wufei's hand was now following the edge of Heero's ribcage, testing his abdominal muscles. Heero shivered when Wufei's fingertips found his bellybutton [, and reached out]. Wufei was on his side, facing him. Heero wasn't at a good angle for Wufei to use the inside of his hand, so Wufei used the back, letting his knuckles caress Heero's cheek, run down his chest, rub his side gently. They hadn't done that before, they'd never touched each other so freely. Heero was a little miffed that Wufei got to touch his bare upper body and he had to feel Wufei's shape through his shirt and the thick sleeping bag.

note about square brackets - if Heero is reaching out, follow this with descriptions of what Heero touches/feels with his hand. Following the 'reached out' bit with Wufei's actions confused me into think Heero had wriggled a hand free and was feeling Wufei's face/upper body.

second note: a good rule-of-thumb when doing a scene between two people of the same gender (any scene, really). Use name, then follow with pronouns as long as you're referring to that name mentioned. When you switch to the other person, then use pronouns to refer to that person until you switch back. "Heero thought he'd just borrow Wufei's wrench; he wouldn't mind if Heero did." versus: "Heero thought he'd just borrow Wufei's wrench; Heero didn't think Wufei would mind." Got that?

Heh, yeah, it's a rough rule, but I find it generally works, with a bit of tweaking here and there. And yeah, making out while someone else is sleeping nearby can either be fun or really frickin' nerve-wracking. *snark*

From the way Wufei was handling him, he wanted the same.

A short minute later, Heero got his wish.

Remember the same pronoun connections apply from paragraph to paragraph, too.

Now, write more!
